Been obsessed with Star Wars: Zero Company for the past week! For my money, it's hands-down the best Star Wars game this generation. Its blend of XCOM-style tactical battles and Mass Effect-influenced character interaction, paired with a great original story, is utter catnip to me. Well worth a go!

Just finished FURIOUS, one of the best new TV shows of 2026. It's one of the most harrowing, and yet invigorating, pieces of crime drama I've ever watched. A truly idiosyncratic show with a morbid sense of humour and some truly devastating performances. If you have Hulu/Disney+, do not sleep on it!
We are all Daniel Witwicky during THAT scene right now. RIP Peter Cullen
C'mon, Universe. You just took two absolute legends from us back-to-back. You owe us at least ONE death of a scumbag. You know which one we want... And no, Mitch McConnell doesn't count. It's not our fault that his death certificate has gotten "misplaced". Anyway, RIP Dolly and Tim.
Got a little time away from the desk today to visit the set of The Batman Part II, filming around the corner from my office!
Need a pick-me-up this morning? I sure do. Anyway, here's Lenore Zann (voice of Rogue from X-MEN '97) adorable Instagram video congratulating Inde Navarette on being cast as Rogue in the MCU X-Men reboot.
Every single movie adaptation of a Mark Millar comic book is better than the source material, mostly because they sand away a lot of the sophomoric edgelord cringe and "humour" that permeates his writing. Even Kick-Ass 2, a bad movie, is still better than its comic counterpart.
The movie Fletch is an improvement on Gregory MacDonald's original novel if only because it does the classic pulp novel detective thing of taking the two cases that appear to be completely different cases and links them at the climax. The novel just had two independent stories Fletch was chasing.

Won't name names for obvs reasons, but I've got a friend who works at one of the biggest Film & TV talent agencies in the UK. Several of their clients are working on the HP show. However, they told me just as many (if not more) refused lucrative offers. Remember: there are good people out there!
Ally Pankiw (I Used to Be Funny) revealed in an Instagram post that she passed on directing the HBO Harry Potter series. Kate Herron (Loki) revealed in the comments that she passed on directing episodes TWICE. It really is that fucking easy. It's really just that easy.
I picked three movies about unconventional romances, and then one about Orson Welles waxing lyrical about the art of forgery.

British GP offices: I know you want to book an appointment for next week, but we can only see you RIGHT NOW if you abandon your job without warning and run across town to us, or otherwise the next one is in eleventy billion years.
The trailer for Adam Wingard's latest ONSLAUGHT looks decent, but I know I'm immediatelly sold as soon as I hear Dan Stevens doing a ridiculous European accent. This man cannot be stopped, and I don't want anyone to even try.
I have been both of these women at different points in the past week
It's incredibly ironic that Darkman was created because Sam Raimi didn't get the job to make a Batman movie, and then years later, we're getting a Batman spin-off movie that's clearly inspired by Darkman. Anyway, movie looks cool!

This is basically the exact kind of manipulative faux-leftist douche that “Your Woman” by White Town was written about. That song continues to find new ways to be ahead of its time.
Being a freeloading piece of shit, but wokely
I'm not going to count indies I saw at a film festival that either didn't or barely got a public release, because that doesn't seem fair. Putting those aside, it's a toss-up between Pixels and this year's Return to Silent Hill. Both video game-related, but both awful in very different ways.

Just back from seeing THE ODYSSEY. That Chris Nolan bloke has hit us with another banger! For context, here's my updated ranking:
I swear, I went on this walk because I wanted to. It wasn't because Beth told me we'd "see some snuff".
After 11 miles we're back
Wow! Don't generally put much stock in IMDb Star Meter rankings, but still: congrats @theabigailthorn.bsky.social! Clearly plenty of folk watching #HouseOfTheDragon are seeing you and going, "Who's THAT girl?"
For anyone about to say "this is how it's been on PC for ages": On PC, you have options on where to buy digital games. Steam, Epic, GoG, itchio, Humble, and many more I am forgetting or don't even know about. On Playstation, if you don't buy physical, your ONLY option is PSN. Fuck this.

You've tapped your last spine. Backed your last nickel. Hootied your last blowfish. Spun your last doctor. Partied your last bloc. Shazamed your last fox. Crossed your last Christopher! You have eaten your last world, Jimmy. Now bow to me!
You've limped your last bizkit.
As soon as Arrow announced this set, I had to pre-order it; even though I was broke at the time. This was WAY too Jenny-coded not to nab. Looking forward to revisiting these slices of 90s cheese over the weekend…
