After watching Ti West and Mia Goth's X trilogy, I have decided that Mia Goth is the 21st century's Shelley Duvall. There are so many echoes of Duvall in the different choices Goth makes in this trilogy.
As much as I enjoyed The Social Network, I've been apprehensive for this follow up. Alonso gives a fair review that has me now wanting to watch it, despite the absence of Fincher. Is Tommy Schlamme retired? He could wrangle Sorkin's scripts well.

This is a fascinating issue being focused on. I somewhat remember it as the tone and characters being similar to the Weezie model, but maybe not? Regardless, this will be a great listen
Power Pack Vol 1 #63: “Rarely Pure and Never Simple” You can listen to the episode by clicking: Episode 222 We have done it. After over 8 years, we have finally covered the entirety of the Power Pack series. Issues 1 to 63. Look at us, we are big boys now. Admit it, you did not think we would do…
Against All Odds (1984) was not at all what I expected. Jeff Bridges was impeccably handsome and sharply dressed. James Woods really nailed the oily creep to perfection. Rachael Ward was luminous. However, I was completely unaware this thing was a noir.
Continuing my tour of first-time views starring Jeff Bridges in the mid-80s. I watched Jagged Edge last weekend, and 8 million Ways to Die yesterday. Now watching Against All Odds.
I just finished this episode! I have never read Darkhawk, and yet I have read some comments really digging the character. Interesting story told here.
Darkhawk Vol 2 #51: “The Return” You can listen to the episode by clicking: Episode 221 It is time to get our Darkhawk on! We have a legacy issue, honoring one of those great, underutilized treats from the 1990's. And, thanks to a couple of poignant flashbacks that feature his time with the…
Yesterday was the great Louise Simonson's birthday. The comics community needs to pick a day to celebrate Louise and her husband Walt like they've done with Batman.
I was listening to Steely Dan's song Dirty Work, and realized the lyrics describe Leo DiCaprio's character in One Battle After Another.
Yeah, I've never been a fan of the coffee taste

@scottryanfmp.bsky.social I just finished your book about the making of Wild At Heart! What a fantastic book you've written! After reading, I saw that collection of cut scenes on YouTube. I'm somewhat surprised Nic Cage never worked with David after Industrial Symphony

I've been listening to episodes of @cultcinemacircle.bsky.social and recently heard the episode on It Follows. I was curious if he had seen Under the Silver Lake since then?
Butler County MO Democrat Central Committee for 2026-28. I was elected secretary!
Busy today with work. Awoke to a suspicious activity text from the bank regarding my debit card. I had to go get a new card at lunch.
A thing that is bothering me this evening; I'm still trying to recover from the event of the weekend. Today was pretty good until I did some camera roll cleanup
First day of the 2026-27 school year. Convocation was a muggy gathering wherein the staff wore shirts supporting public school and yet 75% will vote for candidates who will continue to defund education in Missouri
I'm kind of psyched that I got book 14 of my goal 20 books read this evening. Next is Wook Working by @emilystjams.bsky.social. A lot of friends have given it high recommendations!
Friday August 14, 2026 my fiance decided she no longer wants to have a relationship. These things happen and I won't blame her for anything. Suffice to say it really stinks
I agree with Alonso. I will add it would have cooler when Marvel had the Star Wars license in the 70s-80s. Imagine Walt Simonson illustrating that?
Surprised it took them this long, frankly.
One good thing about this show is that you get to hear breakdowns of runs and titles you never knew was adjacent to the actual book. The bad thing is that Jeff and Rick showcase the books so well, you go searching for them to read yourself. Looking forward to this one!
Fantastic Four (2014) V5 #645: “Fantastic Four” You can listen to the episode by clicking: Episode 218 We have reached the end of Fantastic Four...Again. It is not your imagination, this is not a drill, this is not a test. At the end of every run, it seems to be a big conclusion story, and this…
