After months of work in Solid, this week we ran into a couple bugs that made me realize this isn’t a good fit for my team. One was a tooling bug, which was easily resolved, but another was a but in - I guess - solid router? But parametrized routes do not react to the parameter changing.

@jamespearce.bsky.social hey James, is there an existing guide or something on the horizon for (granular) sync permissions? E.g. if I want a transaction/mutation to be able to be rejected at the sync level for a specific reason X or specific data Y, how do I go about that?

Pretty close to the stack that I want, a nice to have would be for it to be deployable through SST, but I’m already really happy that with the Durable Objects update @tinybase.bsky.social will be integral to collect all of my “operating” apps into one, sick, @expo.dev project 🙏

It’s nearly time to start my next project which will probably kick off this holiday period. I want to put together all of the Small Apps that make me tick into one Big App, an operating system in the literal sense. It’s been on my mind for a bit and my habits have tanked, so a good time to start!

Got Expo Router with Server Components working on Cloudflare workers! And now finally moving towards hosting a blog, sick 🤙

It’s crazy to think in a month from now I won’t be full time focused on a React Native project for the first time in 4 years. Genuinely hope there’s a path to use RN in the new challenge at some point but for now it’s back to web-only for me 🫶

tip for RN users: file issues about basic things that are broken. basic things often *are* broken and it takes someone creating a small example to isolate them and get them on a library roadmap

tip for React/RN library authors: if you’re creating a library that messes with refs or native handles, *please*, verify that it’s able to handle conditional rendering and refs changing over time! conditional rendering is a fundamental React feature. i don’t know how this wasn’t caught for years

It’s sounds like these that Luna makes that always make me melt.

Let this article be an eye opener! Do not algorithmify your social (media) presence, it won’t work to tinker at the margins. You’ll get there when you get there 😉

This is 150% why I built @tanstack.com Router first. CSR is 👑 and I don’t see that changing any time soon. If you’re building a CSR React app, you deserve to use the best CSR router. tanstack.com/router

What kind of React app do you get paid to work on (not hobby projects)? - CSR, no SSR - Isomorphic SSR - RSC Again, if you don’t use React at a paid gig, don’t reply. If you maintain multiple, reply with the one that makes the most money (the product, not yourself)
