For most of us, seeing the Klan 2.0, a.k.a. Patriot Front, march through Washington, D.C., unchallenged by authorities overshadowed any celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. My ancestors lived through this. And no one today can say with a straight face that racism is behind us.
I am loving that companies are moving towards community curation as a metric and I foresee that its only gonna get bigger over the next two-three years. They no longer want access to your 10,000+ community with 80% of them are duds, but the small curated ones with rockstars.
Am I the only person who finds it easier to write and work in markdown than word?

People who know me know I’m very anti-community in tech because it’s pretty much become sheep herding where someone is trying to get people to join a newsletter, substack, go to a conference, etc. It’s no longer about skills and talent. So the solo economy coming to tech hiring is awesome IMO.
One of the things I’m very excited to start seeing is the solo economy coming to tech hiring. For the last couple of years it’s been the community people being a part of the process but most of them aren’t in the biz so they can’t tell a rockstar from a rock.
While not a fan of Sam Altman I understand the problem he had to solve on the NPO side intimately. High Value/ Low Community nonprofits are the hardest NPOs to build and create cause most people don’t get the feels when donating.

it's remarkable how like, you can visibly notice how people who still use X regularly are either getting dragged to the right (if on the centre-left or centre) or just getting more toxic in general

Joyce Park@troutgirl.bsky.social · 2mo agoThe biggest cultural thing I've noticed about the last 10 years is that horror has completely taken over all media. There are more horror movies, novels, TV shows, and general VIBES than I've ever seen in my life. Even most of the SciFi is horror inflected.
how come world shattering revelations like this come out about the tech industry and it's leaders on a regular basis yet it has no real world consequences on them. in fact, governments are pushing the tech down our throats

Being a technical nonprofit is weird. A lot of things with automation and API's y'all are talking about these days been doable cause we were doing it, but now that the ease of doing it is lowered suddenly its beleivable.
I'm more interested in learning about how the idea guys from 10-15 years ago who had to learn how to code feel about AI more than anyone else. There is a huge group of these people who learned how to code for thier own ideas that are now in industry.
