Happy July 4 America! 🇺🇸 Yesterday I had the opportunity to see a piece of American history, in the heart of Chichester! Did you know we have one of only two copies of the original Declaration of Independence? More information is available on the Events tab on the West Sussex Record Office website

Liberal Democrat MP for Chichester.
Lovely to meet with SOSCA’s Libby and Mike from Hayling Sewage Watch yesterday in Parliament to discuss the ‘Dirty Business’ docudrama and the frustrations locally in our constituency around development that doesn’t take sewage capacity or infrastructure into account.
Today I asked for a meeting to be arranged with the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government regarding infrastructure-first development, which we certainly don’t see in our area.
I defended your right to a fair trial by voting against the government’s Courts and Tribunals Bill, seeking to erode the right to a jury trial for a number of serious sentences of up to three years. Scrapping jury trials will do absolutely nothing to bring down the spiralling court backlog.
Today, I’ll be voting to protect children in Chichester and across the Country from harmful social media platforms. We’re calling for a harms-based approach, with a film-style age rating for social media apps, protecting under-16s from content that they shouldn’t see.
I have tabled an amendment to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill, which seeks to make National Landscapes statutory consultees on planning applications. Gideon Amos MP is supportive of the amendment and will speak in favour of it at the bill committee stage, which is due to start tomorrow.
A short week last week with Easter’s Bank Holiday (doesn’t that already feel like a lifetime ago?) but here are some of the things I got up to!
🦷 Today I sat down with my colleagues Danny Chambers and Alison Bennett to discuss dentistry with Eddie Crouch, the Chair of the British Dental Association. Over 12 million people in the UK are without an NHS dentist and the dental contract, which is fundamentally flawed, needs urgent reform.
It’s a little late this week, but here’s some of what I got up to last week as Chichester’s Member of Parliament!

Happy World Book Day! #WBD While I get Mad Hatter and Princess Pirate to school this morning, I’m very grateful to Oakwood School for inviting me to celebrate World Book Day a day early and meet some fantastic book characters! I’d love to see your world book day characters from across Chichester!
"We need the government to match that recognition for action for the patients, for the families, and for a health service that depends on hospices." @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social
Lib Dem MP calls on the government to sustainably fund hospices
Examples shared across the House show that hospices are a vital part of our healthcare system. They provide outstanding care for patients approaching the end ...

This morning Ofwat have announced their proposed water bill rises for consumers around the country, with Southern Water customers being hit the hardest with a 44% increase for 2025-26. My constituents in Chichester will, like me, be angry and shocked that it’s up to bill payers to pick up the pieces
A day late! This is just some of the things I got up to last week, both in Parliament and in the Chichester constituency.
You’ve never heard a Christmas single quite like this before. Ed Davey and Bath Philharmonia Young Carers' Choir present: “Love is Enough” - in support of the Bath Phil and Carers Trust. Out tomorrow! 🎁❄️
As an MP, some days are harder than others… 🐶 Great to welcome Battersea to Parliament today to hear about their work and their asks of the Government. Hard to walk away today without committing to taking home a new member of the family, especially this gorgeous 8 year old girl in the picture!
🚨 Today I was able to ask the Home Secretary directly if she agrees with me that re-opening Chichester Custody Centre would take police officers out of traffic jams and back into our communities. I am glad she will also back my call to the Police & Crime Commissioner to re-open the custody centre.
Another week representing my very special patch!
Big day today - Joined BlueSky and found out I’d been made into a Top Trump card.
