The solution to funding Social Security isn’t to have some Commission “meet in the middle” between raising revenue from the wealthy (which everybody wants) vs cutting benefits (which nobody but a portion of billionaires want). Doing what their constituents want is *what Congress is supposed to do.*

Americans are remarkably united around what they want for Social Security's future...more than 3 in 4 Republicans and more than 9 in 10 Democrats want lawmakers to strengthen Social Security's revenue base to protect its critical benefits. - Rebecca Vallas, National Academy of Social Insurance

BREAKING: The Justice Department. Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee just moved Trump lackey Todd Blanche's nomination to a full Senate vote. If confirmed Blanche will be corrupt, toadying, & focused on the defense of Trump. The Senate must reject Blanche for AG.

Bondi was fired because she wouldn’t do Trump’s corrupt bidding unquestionably enough, and she sure was trying. But Blanche earned the nomination by rushing out indictments on everybody Trump wanted at record pace, executing the Epstein cover-up, and giving Trump a crooked $1.8B slush fund.

Cornyn saying that Blanche is willing to give Trump hard advice is laughable. If we’ve learned one thing through this process it is Blanche’s utter willingness to do literally anything not to cross Trump and to deliver on his agenda of revenge. #blockblanche

BREAKING: Acting AG Todd Blanche wants the American public to believe a late-night social media post is proof that President Trump’s $1.776 billion slush fund is completely dead — but seemingly still won't swear to it in court. We're demanding the DOJ say under oath that the fund cannot be revived.

A vote for Blanche is a vote for giving Trump & his family IRS immunity as they’ve engaged in shocking corruption. Also a vote for the Epstein cover-up, allowing tax dollars for the ballroom & Trump selling inside info to Wall St. And Blanche can still give $ to J6ers or Trump.

Bild

What this makes clear is that this case never had any evidence but was brought purely because Trump needed a scapegoat for his own corruption and incompetence. Blanche prosecuted an innocent American anyway because he is a mob lawyer goon who should be disbarred, not promoted.

Some might see this and assume it’s fake, but Trump actually published it. The White House perpetrated a fraud on the public, and after the DOJ was forced to abandon a baseless prosecution, Trump doubled down on the self-satisfying fiction he prefers to reality and threw Pirro under the bus.

“If Blanche can’t do the right thing on cases where the law is obvious and unambiguous, how can he be trusted with complex decisions? Courts, authorities and history judge attorneys according to established legal standards rather than partisan loyalty…Senate should do the same.”

Bild

It’s crystal clear that if Cornyn hadn’t dug in his heels, the slush fund would absolutely have been brought back. And for all the talk about Blanche being a good guy who’s being overridden by Trump, Blanche has been in on the “don’t put it in writing” con every step of the way.

Judge in Virginia schedules July 8 status conference in the federal legal challenge against Trump's $1.776 billion slush fund Justice Dept declined judge's order to put in writing its claim that the fund is not moving forward. So the case proceeds....

I think this quote suggests that a lot of the Blanche and slush fund problems are coming from vulnerable GOP senators, who don’t want to vote for him but don’t want Trump’s wrath either.

Bild

This is morally monstrous behavior. These are ordinary, innocent people that Trump is condemning to suffering & death out of political vindictiveness. Every decent human being, regardless of political party, should condemn it. Where is the fucking *anger*? From the press? From civic leaders? Pols?

FEMA said yes to Democratic disaster requests. Trump killed them anyway.

President Donald Trump cast aside bipartisan precedent when he rejected eligible disaster requests from four blue states.

I think the danger for Blanche is that having all this spotlight on him raises the stakes exponentially for Collins, Husted, and Sullivan, not just on the January 6 slush fund but on Blanche’s Epstein cover-up and owning all of Trump’s. Corruption.

On Blanche delay, Judiciary GOP spox says “Senators Cornyn and Tillis want written assurances from the Department of Justice regarding the Trump-IRS settlement. Tomorrow’s markup is postponed as work continues to secure sufficient support…” Rs have a 12-10 majority on committee.

Worse, SSA makes it hard for SSI beneficiaries to report most changes (other than wages, for the most part). Recipients must visit SSA offices in person, call the notoriously slow 800 number, or make a written reports (there's no form, so most are handwritten.) And they must do it promptly!
