Only 10 pages of book read so far, but I'm almost done with my sewing homework! Had to pick out and re-stitch my seams a BUNCH of times but they look pretty good now (flat felled princess seams, 6 total, oof).

But the fact remains, if you ever lose your job involuntarily you’ll feel it: Employer dependent healthcare is a trap. Medicare for all or even just single payer for all would drastically free up and empower America’s workforce.

I made a leather bag! It took probably 16 hours of work (I am very slow) but I learned a lot and I’m excited about it. The lining is chickens!
The new Victoria Goddard novella Urbanite is my favorite thing of hers that I've read in a while! I still think The Hands of the Emperor is the best entry point to her books even though it's huge (it's just so! good!) but this one works pretty well as an entry point too, I think.

This weekend I sewed with a twin needle for the first time, finished reading a queer sci-fi retelling of Moby-Dick, went to an outdoor concert, walked around the Obama Center grounds, started volunteer training at the leather arts school, & bought a bunch of groceries to get me through the heat wave
