Almost like summer this October afternoon. Reading my favourite annual spooky season read with a cup of Blue Jasmine - a delicious white tea that brews blue 💙 Happy Sunday 🎃☀️🍂

Writing thoughts 🤔 💭 Apartments on the hill of Montmartre , looking over Paris. I wonder if my great-grandfather stood here when he came to Paris from London. What possibilities did he see when he looked out on his new city?

Welcome October 🍂 My favourite month, packed full of literary events, like the Vancouver Writers Festival and the Surrey International Writers Conference, an open mic night with a local literary zines, and the month to celebrate my Celtic heritage with a new year on Samhain 🎃

Welcome Mabon 🍂 The harvest season is here. Time to sit with the year, and sweep 🧹 away the things that no longer serve, a time to plant the seeds of transition. It's a time to breathe in the cool misty mornings and embrace what is looming beyond the glow of the harvest moon.

Summer Reading at a gorgeous little cafe, that transforms into a cocktail cave at night, and harbours a separate room for meeting up or quietly reading. My writer's heart is infatuated ❤️

Tonight @jgchayko.bsky.social and I are celebrating 6 years of marriage. We climbed out of bed early to get married in a pandemic with very close friends, today we climbed Montmarte to celebrate with a few 100 people who happened to be in Paris. Thank you for the past, the present and our future.

Today's writers field trip takes me down some of the most beautiful streets of Vancouver to a hidden little bunker where the Vancouver Archives are housed. I am now officially registered as a researcher - going back in time.

Yearly Canada Day tradition 🇨🇦 Grateful to live in such a beautiful place, on the unceded ancestral lands of the Coast Salish people, surrounded by beauty. Our spread includes Canadian vegetables, chips, the best of Canadian music on the stereo - although, I must admit, our wine is French 🇫🇷

I've been busy - performing, writing, revising, research, a judge for the Book Awards for B.C. Authors & choreography. This summer, I want to read novels, scribble notes at outdoor cafes, cook nourishing food, meet up with friends, go exploring and fill the well. That's a plan. Happy Friday ❤️

"This day we write" ✍️ This is the mantra for the Surrey International Writers Conference which is back this year, and I'm pleased to be back writing with them again. But this mantra is also a daily mantra for me and writers all over the world - for every day, we write ❤️
