Anyone wanna co-work in SF tomorrow, from 1–5pm or so? I’m thinking about Atlas Café in the mission.
Theee most adult decision I’ve made thus far today is about my lunch: Fresh bag of chips with guacasalsa. Homemade pickled carrots, jicama, cukes, and green beans. And an almond butter and guava jam sando. It’s adult because I’m an adult and this is what I felt like eating.
This recalls an exchange with an agèd English prof, circa 1989: Him: What do you wish to study? Me: Graphic design Him: How people behave? Me, encouraged: Yes, shaping understanding to influence decisions Him, puzzled: …and how people navigate space? Me: Sorta…? He thought I’d said traffic design.
People who don’t know the difference between ‘entomology’ and ‘etymology’ bug us in ways we cannot put into words.
I’m such a good power napper. I set an alarm for 25 min and woke up feeling refreshed after six. A six minute nap. 😮💨
the fact that john ossoff can kick off a two-day media cycle by saying that the president is uninterested in doing his job and is sleeping through meetings and traveling around with a young blonde, suggests that not enough of these guys are speaking plainly and effectively about these assholes
I'd say about 80% of America's current problems stem from the warnings of Black people not being heeded historically. Most white folks NEVER thought this shit could happen to THEIR food, THEIR water, THEIR air, THEIR homes, THEIR healthcare
Dreamt I was a kid at my childhood home helping ready the dining room for a meal. Surprised to find the silverware in disarray (dish-array?), and was rummaging for extra forks. That’s it, that’s the dream. #OutOfFucks
This is a time of transition: Removed myself from Squarespace after 11 years. Departed from CCA after nearly a decade. It’s making space for whatever’s next.
Wrote about a big day of transition out of full-time employment and a decade at CCA. I’m gonna be blogging a lot more now that I have a new site to do it on. ⤵️ mynameisjoshsilverman.com/writing/tran...

Along with earlier dusk and cooler temps, today I saw, at Costco, ,,,,, even though it’s still August,,, 💬 I can barely bring myself to say it.
Making homemade snickerdoodles for tomorrow’s final, FINAL class at CCA. 🥲
Worked out. Air in my tires. Gas in my tank. Mango in my trunk (all from Costco). Roni Size in my ears. Happy eclipse Wednesday, peeps!
happy eclipse day to those who celebrate and will be waking up on GMT
Showing my age: “I love this disc” The 💿 in mind was Digable Planets Blowout Comb.
New podcast ep today — on my brand spanky new website! Josh Levine and I dish about the broken hiring system and what to do about it. I envision a knowledge continuum connecting what you know & who you learn it from — with how you deploy skills at work. Enjoy 🙏🏻 mynameisjoshsilverman.com/podcasts/

Pushing a major update to my personal site in advance of a podcast ep dropping next week. While it’s exciting to be updating it after so long, working with Claude and Netlify and GitHub has me recalling an adage from my agency days: “solving problems by creating them” 🥴🫠😬
Contemplating Triangulating Weighing Mulling Reckoning Crystallizing Figuring Fathoming Cogitating Untangling …it must have been fun to come up with all the “Thinking” verbs for @claudecode.bsky.social. 🧐
BOY it’s been SO LONG since I’ve traded glances with someone on the train — eventually saying hi before my stop because I saw him GLARING — bro if you’re not gonna make the first move then I absofreakinglutely will! 🔥 Relatedly: just posted a Craigslist missed connections 😮💨🙏🏻
i did NOT just read my first halloween event content 😅🫨
Having a salad of three ingredients: radicchio, cucumber, orange tomato. There’s a certain joy from having grown and harvested two of the ingredients.
Bowl of summer: Farmers market heirloom tomatoes. Burrata. Graza olive oil, balsamic glaze, umami salt & coarse ground black pepper.
Wait, it’s August???????????? WHO APPROVED THIS, omg??????
Odyssey this. Odyssey that. We Odyssey ICE abolished.
poured myself a pint of iced coffee and promptly spilled it on the floor, how’s your friday morning starting?
Man it was both hilarious & hard to rewatch Sorry to Bother You tonight at Roxie in SF. Boots and LaKeith and Tune-Yards were back for I Love Boosters & I super enjoyed what a visual romp it was. A critical skewed skewering of SF. I appreciate how far he takes the joke. The absurd and the awful.
Hey @nytimes.com would you chill with the messaging to invite three people to my subscription? I’ve said no every gd day, in several many ways.
Good morning and hello Bsky. Where are you finding hope these days? How are you creating it?
