IPCC is in Bangkok this week for its 64th Plenary. We’re 2.5 years into our 7th cycle and focus is on a review of IPCC’s Principles & Procedures which underpin our ability to deliver comprehensive, neutral, objective, transparent, inclusive, and scientifically robust assessments.

I was honoured to address the 12th Plenary of @ipbes.net in Manchester. Scientists are already active at the interface between our two organisations. I’m delighted to welcome participants from the IPBES community to the @ipcc.bsky.social Workshop on Engaging Diverse Knowledge Systems next week.

Excellent meeting with Mari Sundli Tveit, CEO of the Research Council of Norway, in Oslo yesterday. We discussed progress of the IPCC’ seventh assessment cycle as well as the collection and retention of climate data.

Great meeting the Norwegian Minister of Finance Jens Stoltenberg in Oslo. We discussed @ipcc.bsky.social's progress on our next assessment report, the implications of exceeding global warming of 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels and the role of bioenergy.

It was a privilege to meet Monique Barbut, Minister of Ecological Transition, Biodiversity & Int’l Negotiations on Climate & Nature at the opening of IPCC's first Lead Author Meeting for the Seventh Assessment Report in Paris today. We are grateful to France for hosting this meeting.

This week I am at the Overshoot Conference in Austria hosted by the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). I delivered a keynote address highlighting how #IPCC will be approaching this topic and related themes covered at the conference in our next Seventh Assessment Report.
