Sorry if this is obvious, but it's important to understand: When powerful people show up on a newspaper op-ed page like this, it's not to reach an audience. It's not 1985; they have much more direct and effective ways of doing that. What they are after is borrowed legitimacy.

Rewatched “2000 Mules” recently for a podcast we’re doing later this week and it is really difficult to put into words just how aggravatingly stupid that film was and how depressing it is to think about the impact it had in GOP politics, regardless.

The best advice in an AI training I took was this: Treat AI like you treat your worst intern. Would you let your worst intern write a story without checking it before publishing? Hell no. Would you implicitly trust their research? Hell no. Outsourcing things blindly to AI will end badly.
