This is a big problem for #Ukraine. Besides Patriot systems, Ukraine hardly has capabilities to intercept Russian ballistic missiles. After wasting over half its stockpile on its war on Iran, the US is now less likely to provide Ukraine with the necessary munition. Russia will exploit this.

The U.S. is surging production of key munitions, but that commitment must be sustained. A few years of frenzied buying will not fully build inventories & will not establish the surge capacity that might be needed in a future conflict, write Mark Cancian and Chris Park. Read: https://bit.ly/4gajQpu

I don't understand why #NATO Allies don't respond to these incidents by shooting down Russian projectiles over western #Ukraine *before* they enter NATO airspace. It gives NATO Allies a better change to prevent hits on their own territory and helps Ukraine's air defense in the country's west. 1/3

Missile that left crater deep inside Poland was probably Russian - Polish PM Tusk

The missile left a 10m-wide (33ft) crater a short distance from the village of Tarnawa Kolonia, about 100km from the border with Ukraine.

Destruction in southern Lebanon continues, including outside the Yellow Line. Just recently a solar-powered water well was destroyed in Deir Mimas, a Christian village north of the mostly-destroyed town of Kfar Kela. This also damaged a housing complex. News link: nna-leb.gov.lb/ar/news/5185...

Satellite imagery shows that at least 46 towns and villages in southern Lebanon have been heavily damaged or, in some cases, entirely flattened by the Israeli Defence Forces. Bellingcat’s interactive map reveals the scale of the destruction: www.bellingcat.com/news/2026/05...

🇷🇺 Energy-export revenues remained elevated in April due to high oil prices caused by the 🇺🇸🇮🇱 war against 🇮🇷 and the Druzhba pipeline reopening. 🇺🇦 Strikes on 🇷🇺 ports and refineries at least mitigated these effects: Export volumes of refined oil products and seaborne crude oil dropped considerably.

Whether #Russia will now engage in serious ceasefire negotiations remains to be seen, but #Putin 's change of tone on Victory Day was quite remarkable. Perhaps the combined pressure of economic downturn, public discontent, and lack of military successes is really becoming too much for the Kremlin.

Kyiv Post@kyivpost.com · 3mo ago

In 2022, Putin mocked Ukraine’s leadership as “drug addicts and neo-Nazis” and promised to destroy the government in Kyiv within days. In 2026, it’s suddenly “Mr. Zelensky.” The Kremlin is now forced to speak respectfully to the same leadership it once called illegitimate.

Was daraus folgt, hier in meinem Kommentar (freebie) www.zeit.de/politik/ausl...

Stattdessen bitte: Los jetzt.
