A US version of Restore is in the offing, apparently
Anti-Trump conservatives Tucker Carlson, MTG, Massie huddle about launching third-party movement
And the US also provides support for another observation that underpins political constitutionalism - that a rigid constitution that is hard to change can lead to necessary and popular reform (control of $ in politics; gun control; electoral college) being made impossible.
We are pleased to put the iconic Volcanic Ashes trophy 'up for grabs' when we take on the MCC from 14-16 August. Set in a base of basaltic rock, the trophy contains real volcanic ash. Win or lose, it will remain in our triple glazed case in our cricket museum in Reykjavík, under permanent guard.

I don't know if this man is single or whether he's straight, gay, bi, or otherwise, but I have to imagine he's getting a ton of marriage proposals www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

Ladies, I don’t like to brag, but I’m SO FAR AWAY from being a billionaire
As they amass more money and power, the public views billionaires as sweaty psychos Scrooge McDucking their way into evil amounts of cash. The collective ick emerging raises a question that wealthy men might prioritize over ethical perceptions: Have billionaires become categorically unfuckable?
I don’t know but suspect this is the best-known politics podcast in the UK (I don’t listen to it; I do listen do others; but I think this is the most widely known.)
🚨NEW EPISODE🚨 This week on Leading, Alastair and Rory are joined by Clacton by-election candidate and intergalactic space warrior, Count Binface. He breaks down his manifesto and answers: does he really think he can win against Nigel Farage? Link in the replies 👇
I refer the current grey clouds to the message I gave them some days ago
Oi! Grey clouds! Drop some fucking water on us or fuck the fuck off!

I’ve been thinking about going to the Andrew Tate trial if it happens & is held in London (with apologies up the court spectators of Bedfordshire). If I skeet, It will be within the bounds of the law. And I definitely shall not wear wanker goggles
Re: pervert glasses. Should it occur to anyone that they might use them to film court or tribunal proceedings, don’t do that. It’s a criminal offence.

If Blanche had really put an end to the slush fund, Trump would be furious, & Blanche would no longer be the nominee
An update for folks back home My prediction that he’ll get his deposit back is looking good

Cornyn and Tillis have nothing to lose. Pretending that Blanche did anything significant today, and ignoring the umpty-eleven reasons he's unfit that have nothing to do with the fraudulent settlement of Trump's case against the IRS, are the actions of men with no principle or moral core.
In hindsight, the Roy Moore meshugas was an early moment in our era of revelations of GOP pedophilia
Every court victory matters, but some are sweeter than others. Congrats to the Elias Law Group team and our client Senate Majority PAC for this well earned victory for free speech and the 1st Amendment.
Agreed. Coincidentally, the regional appeals court is in my Opa's home town. He and most of his family made it out (barely) in time (he left in 1939). An uncle who'd been wounded in WW I was "deported" to Lithuiania, then murdered there after the invasion. Makes this case feel poignant.
This is a good ruling on free speech grounds alone, regardless of whether or not one agrees with the substantive comparison. www.middleeasteye.net/news/german-...
I hope everyone who trots out "if it's true, why are we hearing about it only now?" thinks about this. Not only do women get attacked no matter when they speak up about their abuse; now, a woman's father—a United States senator—gets the "you're lying, & this is just politics" treatment.
personally i think both of these men should (at minimum) be out of jobs.
*Every* AUSA in Reno has left. Crazy! And Sigal Chattah’s insults are so offensive. My former colleagues in Reno were terrific, principled lawyers, and I am saddened (but not surprised) that they would leave rather than risking their careers, licenses, and reputations working for Chattah.

Great listening to a 17-year-old have a great day batting for Lancashire. Teenagers get on the field reasonably often for both women's and men's high-level cricket, & it always brings a smile when they play well—it probably won't happen, but you can imagine this is the beginning of a great career.
Disappointed this doesn't include the phrase "who the fuck did he think he was?" Moreno is trash; Miller is trash; I can only hope Ohio voters eventually notice.
I don't know if it was Ohio Rep Max Miller's defiant speech just now calling his ex a crazy liar, or the pressure of the press demanding that he address his daughter's allegation against his MAGA colleague, but Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) has finally put out a statement saying Miller must go.
The first summer I spent in London, I think it rained at least briefly every day but one of the circa two months I was here. This is worse. Much worse.
England received only 7% of the long-term average rainfall for July. Southern England, just 1%. Factoid: There has been a weather station in Kew Gardens for 155 years. This July was the first month ever to record 0mm of rain. Tomorrow, London will again hit 30C+ www.theguardian.com/environment/...
