For context: Lake Mead has fallen 160 feet since 2000 and hit a record low in 2022. It supplies 90% of the water used by 2.3 million people in Southern Nevada. If this 88.5-acre data center draws from Lake Mead, drought has officially become a development opportunity..
Reason number infinity to vote against this lawless, greedy, putrid regime: If you hate data centers: Yam tits ordered federal agencies to open public lands to data centers and the power plants needed to run them. The first 88.5-acre AI facility has already been approved near Lake Mead. VOTE.
AOC introduced a bill that would put the brakes on new data centers until Congress can study the environmental, economic and social impact of AI. This should have happened from the very onset of these death traps. The ones that are already operating should be forced to go through the same scrutiny.
