The risks in using AI without paying attention to what's going on under the hood are plainly foreseeable. But it feels like one of those dangers where every single person is going to have to learn it for themselves by getting burned.

Abdul El-Sayed is a pretty normal politician, considered progressive / far-left on the US political spectrum. And center-left in the European and Canadian spectrum. His opponent Mike Rogers is not too normal, right wing in the US and far right in Europe and Canadian spectrum.

Jeb Bush called Donald Trump the Chaos Candidate back in 2015, and no one has ever been proven more correct. It was a long time before it became clear to me why Bush seized on this point. Even today, it's hard for normals to let go of the idea Trump is a rational human being who thinks like us.

Trump loves tariffs. Trump wants high tariffs. He intentionally blew up the "negotiations" It may be due to stupidity, xenophobia, an insatiable craving for attention, or even a deliberate attempt to weaken the western world. But the bottom line is there's no scenario where he supports free trade.

I would love to see a genuine deep dive to fact check these claims. I'd bet any amount of money Natalie Harp's story is false. There's a slight chance she believes it to be true, but the idea she was miraculously saved from terminal bone cancer by the bill Trump (merely) signed is far-fetched.

Harp is a former OANN host who angled for Trump's attention in 2019 by flattering him with a possibly made-up story about bone cancer, saying he saved her life. It feels like how in 2021 Christina Pushaw used flattery to get in with Ron DeSantis and take over his social media. archive.is/UL7Mr

This is a very worrying story. Ecuadorian fishermen are being attacked and killed, and the perpetrators seem to be either the U.S. military engaged in clandestine operations or an American mercenary company working for Bukele or another Central American country.

Far out in the Pacific Ocean, Ecuadorean fishermen have been attacked by unidentified “gringos” using drones, survivors say, spurring a mystery over whether the American military, the armed forces of another country or private military contractors were behind the strikes. One fishing boat has been lost at sea since January, the U.N. says, with eight people still missing and presumed dead. The survivors of two other vessels said they came under attack in March by English-speaking assailants wearing matching uniforms with American flag patches, but without any clear insignia to link them to an official government force. Some of the surviving fishermen said they had been hauled out of the water, questioned and then handed over to El Salvador’s navy before being released. The Pentagon has denied involvement, as has the U.S. Coast Guard. Survivors have also said that a plane followed and seemingly surveilled them before the strikes. The New York Times analyzed flight data and found that a maritime patrol plane — based out of a military base in El Salvador — flew in the direction of all three boats in the days before they were attacked. The pilots onboard spoke English with American accents, according to air traffic control communication recordings.

Just watched Idiocracy for the first time. It did not disappoint. Absolutely hilarious. If anything the current White House and Reflecting Pool are WORSE than Mike Judge could have imagined. The 2026 White House had a UFC octagon in place of the above-ground pool and the Reflecting Pool is a swamp.
