Mothership, End Citizens United, and Progressive Turnout Project—all of whom relentlessly pummel my phone because their data-scraping flagged me as a Dem donor—are fascist saboteurs. What else would you call entities that drain >80% of donations intended for Democrats?

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

Incredible. When E—n M—k & his crew obliterated USAID in a weekend, they deleted a vast trove of publicly-funded knowledge: the Development Experience Clearinghouse. A Canadian high school student (!) happened to have downloaded the entire thing for a project. AidData has now posted it for all.

Before reimagining development data, remember what we’ve learned

Why we’re publishing a free, searchable, and ungated archive featuring a quarter-century of USAID evaluation reports.

If it looks like an Amazon delivery and drives like an Amazon delivery, then it's an Amazon delivery, right? Not according to Amazon. Big companies like Amazon have built a vast network of subcontractors who deliver their packages while shielding them from accountability.

It is a sign of the total failure of our constitutional order that, a mere six years after we were all desperately praying for a miraculous scientific breakthrough to end the worst global pandemic in a century, that the President of the United States can do what he did today & face no consequences.

“Officers subsequently checked the various locations where the Flock cameras were placed and found that the poles were cut down near the base. Officers located the poles nearby in the weeds, but the cameras had been removed.”

Winona police want to know who stole their Flock surveillance cameras

The police say that over the weekend, officers found the poles the cameras were mounted on had been cut down and the cameras were gone. Flock cameras are stirring controversy across the country as the...

DISGUSTING—META used AI software to identify workers with medical conditions for layoffs. 26 former employees have ‌filed a lawsuit accusing META of using AI targeted people with disabilities, or who took medical leave, in selecting people for mass layoffs.

Mitch McConnell hasn’t been seen or heard from in 25 days in the hospital. Yet he still has a job, still getting paid, and getting unlimited world class healthcare. The man who voted against a living wage, against universal healthcare, and against guaranteed paid leave, is now getting all three.

There are four key TV archives in the US: ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN. This is the footage filmmakers use to tell our history. If Paramount buys Warner Brothers, two of those archives - including 45 years of CNN footage- will be controlled by one company and likely one person, Bari Weiss.

this is why AI terrifies me. sure, it can be a tool to help people do their jobs. but stupid, lazy people who operate in bad faith and who have the power to ruin people’s lives will outsource their basic functions to it without any skepticism.

The ACLU filed suit on behalf of a Florida man who was wrongly arrested due to a false facial recognition match, and the alleged facts are a doozy storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

This case is about what happens when police let an error-prone artificial
intelligence (“AI”) system stand in for an investigation. A facial recognition algorithm
flagged Robert Dillon as the man who tried to lure or entice a child under twelve years
old at a Jacksonville Beach McDonald’s. It was wrong. Mr. Dillon, a fifty-two-year-old
resident of Fort Myers, had never set foot in Jacksonville Beach. But rather than test
the machine’s answer against the evidence that would have cleared him, the officers
built a case to confirm it. Mr. Dillon was arrested and prosecuted for one of the most
stigmatizing crimes a person can face.
2. Mr. Dillon lives more than 300 miles from Jacksonville Beach. He had
no connection to the McDonald’s, to the child who was targeted, or to anyone
involved in the crime. He became a suspect for one reason: a facial recognition

Once again: German universities were the envy of the world before the Nazis rose to power and took an ideological wrecking ball to the entire enterprise. If you want to know how long it took for German universities to recover… they haven’t.

It’s truly astonishing to see how comprehensively the US government is tearing down every part of the system that has made it up until now a world-leading power in science, research, and technological development. The entire world will suffer from this wanton destruction.

Not enough news coverage of how the insurrectionist reparations fund is a clear violation of the 14th Amendment. We need to enforce the Constitution in its original meaning and plain text. You can't imagine away parts of the Constitution just because it is politically inconvenient.

Let it be known that Katherine Johnson was the reason for the first astronauts in space. And now Vanessa Wyche, head of the Johnson Space Center and NASA's highest ranking civil servant, is the responsible for the longest manned space flight in history

The Mamdani administration today announced its own click to cancel rule, to make sure that every subscription transaction in the city is as easy to end as it is to start. The FTC did this in 2023, it was challenged in court & Trump's FTC wouldn't defend it. NYC is doing it themselves.

The famous Andor line is that "tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle." Here is a perfect example of that through malicious compliance: Idaho forced the city of Boise to remove its Pride flags. So the city painted rainbows everywhere else.

Boise took its Pride flag down. But new art has popped up at City Hall. What it cost

“The flag is not our only form of expression,” a Council Member previously said.

The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity. He must be removed from office. The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.

NEW: Even by national standards, Pennsylvania has a sky-high rate of people serving life without parole. That's bc it mandates anyone convicted of 2nd-degree murder serve that sentence. The state supreme court just declared that to be cruel—a major ruling written by the Dem chief justice.

Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court Reins in Life Sentences for Felony Murder - Bolts

The court’s ruling could create a pathway out of prison for more than 1,000 people who were automatically sentenced to life without parole for murders they themselves didn't commit.
