The best way to get to the bottom of the McConnell question is for the governor to appoint a replacement. The GOP legislature passed a law stripping him of that power, but it goes against the state constitution. If they refuse to seat the replacement, take them to court. There’s zero downside.
This “New Liberalism” conference is very interesting. But the donors behind it are right-wing libertarians. Why? They aim to drag “liberals” to the right. And here Allen just says it. “Liberal” means… halfway between libertarians (a fringe) and a labor union.

😢 Also, we used to be able to plan summer vacations without worrying much about large wild fires. It’s not that they never happened, but it was the exception. We don’t plan travels like we used to because large fires have become so widespread. Climate change is a threat multiplier.
