There's something I've noticed about this salary cap debate in MLB that's been bothering me, and I finally put my finger on it this evening. Fully a quarter of MLB players and nearly 40% of MiLB players are immigrants. Over a third of both MLB and MiLB players are Hispanic or Latino.

Earlier this year, the US and UAE (which is, with our help, also committing genocide in Sudan) created a paramilitary force to ensure the flow of cobalt and rare earth minerals extracted by child slaves to create GPUs.

There is a certain level of obtuseness in (some) "AI" apologists when they flounce up to point out what "AI" is good for in science, etc, while eliding the fact that almost none of that use is driving the current market capitalization, environmental degradation and resource hogging of the field
