Iran diplomacy right now boils down to three topics: Israel, money & inspections. But Israel isn’t at the table and both the money and inspections issues aren’t resolved. We need to get the negotiations design right for our diplomacy to work. We’re not there yet. My quick take.

Iran - along with Hezbollah - has just launched strikes into Israel while Trump's negotiations with the Iranians are stuck in limbo. Maybe Iran thinks it has the upper hand in negotiations & can strike. We'll see. But this certainly isn't a sign of their interest in diplomacy! @ms.now

Trump finally recognizing regional allies are critical to peace. But let's be clear: Hamas's first targets after the ceasefire are the Palestinian people. This is horrifying. Those who called for ceasefire must demand Hamas exit. Qatar, Egypt, Turkey - keep the pressure on. @msnbc.com

Two years after Oct. 7th, Israel is fighting for more than security- it's fighting for its soul. My analysis on how that day shattered Israel's sense of invulnerability, what fragile ceasefire negotiations mean & why Jewish safety spans from Gaza to American neighborhoods. joelrubin.substack.com
