About once a year, or when ever I feel like it, I go for a cycle around Malahide where I grew up. Did that today, and I was reminded how friendly the people are there, there’s just a general ease about them. Despite how utterly unaffordable it’s become, it’s kept its soul somehow.

People have been made to feel like they aren't worthy of love and freedom. They seek what's familiar: pain, misery, alienation. So love is disarming, perceived as a threat. For years they've sought to extinguish gender non-conforming people because we teach the world that freedom is possible.

You do not have to call out a particular person's body, but we do need to talk about what is happening to women's bodies, and the pressure for men to be muscular.

I found this thread helpful, do thank you to Carol for posting it. I’ve spoken many times about my father’s emotionally and physically abusive behaviour. I’ve spoken about being relieved by his death, but I haven’t spoken much about those who felt deep sadness at his death.

It's frustrating when people complain about the very, very few Irish bureaucratic things that are going really well. The Irish passport office is as speedy and efficient as you could hope for.
