I like to believe that in a few hundred years the people will look back at the financial elite of our time, the same as we look back at kings and rulers of the medieval times. Not all are doing bad, but the power they are wielding is just insane and in no way justified.

At least AI thinks my talks are popular 😉: "Robot Holmes" is a popular, story-driven tech talk series at EuroPython created by data scientist Johannes Kolbe. It teaches real-world ML, Computer Vision, and Voice AI concepts using engaging, noir-style murder mysteries set in the city of "MLington"

What are some ethically good (or at least okay) smartphones on the market at the moment that also perform well? The random crashes of my phone are getting a bit out of hand lately 🙃 I can live with @fairphone.com and Shift phones, just wondering if there are any others I'm missing.

It is unusually cold and icy in Germany since the beginning of the year. Yet I'm still baffled at the inability of most cities to clear sidewalks for people's safety for weeks now. In Berlin the hospitals are even complaining about an alarming amount of people coming in because they slipped on ice.

Feels like Moltbook is yet another proof that humans like to be insulting, especially if they can hide behind something like agents and say "it wasn't me that said it, it was the AI"

Sundays are (still) for books. Currently going through this one and it reminds me that you never can imagine the horrors of war until you are in one.

1. I love to write! 2. I get a lot of satisfaction from putting words in a nice order. 3. I lack the time to do proper writing. 4. I turn to AI to create a nice, smooth text in a short time. 5. The satisfaction I get from it is much lower. 6. I like writing less. A vicious cycle 😞

Okay so my plan was to do a week straight of casual, not very controversial posting here to see how this goes and get into a flow. But ffs US, get your shit together. At the rate this shit show is going I don't see me entering that country any time in the next 3 years (and probably beyond).

Any hacks on actually finishing a side project? I feel like whenever I get to the point of creating a repo with some structure, a new project idea comes around and feels way more interesting than what I'm working on.

So with all the downskilling articles these days and in fear of my own forgetfulness, I decided it is time I start to only use the command line for git from today. I realize I forgot way too much since uni days 🙈

I can't shake the feeling that something is different in the AI world over the last weeks. Feels like no gigantic hyped up shit has been going on, which makes me wonder if AI-Hype-companies (especially OpenAI) are running out of material or preparing an even bigger ugly bag of surreal marketing.
