Climate change haiku time: In thirty-six years, Have we really even tried? Summer scorches now. 36 years is referencing to the first report in 1990 of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which warned of the future we're now inhabiting. Want to add your own climate change haiku?

The 2 of us are in CPH ahead of #SMBE2026, currently staying on a docked boat! Special thanks to SMBE for offering child care - without that and caregiver support in '23, I wouldn't have made it to either of these meetings. Also, I'm extending this postdoc opening until 7/7: tinyurl.com/mtwx7te3
Big news this week from The Rogers Lab. We will be moving to GW University in Washington DC, starting August 1st. We will be hiring postdocs and recruiting new students! Email me if interested or come find me at SMBE!
Had the best conference experience at #PEQG26 with my lab @pool-lab.ecoevo.social.ap.brid.gy. Truly enjoyed hanging out with great science and people here. Thanks to @genetics-gsa.bsky.social, organizers and the awesome community who made it special!
Loved PEQG - lots of great science, yet everyone's in one space, and so many old friends to catch up with. Amazing pre-conference travel too... Dramatic coast, giant redwoods, marine mammals galore (elephant seals, otters, ORCAS, etc). If you're really curious: photos.app.goo.gl/qiXngo1exh8E...

It is SO good to be getting some coast and redwood time in ahead of PEQG!
My lab at the University of Wisconsin - Madison is searching for a postdoc! Multiple project directions are possible based on applicant interests. We have a really nice group of population / evolutionary genetics labs in Madison, and it's also a great place to live. www.evoldir.net/brian/evoldi...

A bit of caution for those who attended #DROS26 - although I ran into a lot of great people, unfortunately I also ran into COVID. The people who were wearing masks in crowded poster sessions look pretty smart about now!
I had a really nice time in Chicago catching up with old friends at #Dros26, and also meeting new people - like blues legend Buddy Guy! (OK not at the conference itself, but still pretty crazy)
