Jimmy Carter lost because underhanded Ronald Reagan told Iran that if they held the American hostages until after the presidential election (to make Carter look bad) Reagan would secretly sell arms to Iran. Reagan then used the money from Iran to illegally fund the Contras, a Nicaraguan rebel group.

Well, the Trump administration’s EPA found a simple way to stop hearing from the public just eliminate the requirement to ask them. The EPA is scrapping public notice and comment requirements for air pollution permits on new data centers and the power plants needed to run them.
