free advice for game developers: try to make the next smash hit video game, such as grand theft auto. if you do, you'll be making more than just a video game – you'll be making millions of dollars

I'm visiting Japan for the first time in a couple months. What are some must see / do / eat / drink things?!? Please shout all your recommendations! Bonus points for videogame-related stuff, company tours, stores, iconic / historic locations, etc...

I think it's because there's no actual reason to go to a physical store and buy a hard copy of a video game in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty Five... but you know, I'm sure wokeness also played a role.

#NEW: GameStop says it intends to sell its Canadian and French operations, the latest planned cuts after years of declining revenues. CEO cites ‘Wokeness and DEI’ in a statement.

All these 🤡 watching the Intergalactic trailer saying "I dOn'T kNoW GuYS, I gOt To SeE GaMePlaY!" - Ye you right, because there's very little evidence ND actually know how to make games.

That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are

The $82.5 million sale of "Hot Ones" studio First We Feast is part of a broader strategy at BuzzFeed to shift away from human editors, writers and content producers in favor of artificial intelligence, which result in "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."

I enjoy a dunk on silly AI as much as everyone else, but it doesn't really seem that relevant here. It could have just as easily been some automation, or script-following human sending malicious / incorrect reports. The real issue seems like the registrar not triaging / handling it appropriately?

I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain
