I remain but a small-town political scientist, & it’s still early in the evening, but it appears that The Actual Democrats did not Need To Do any of the Things or Learn any of the Big Lessons that Ezra Douthglesias said they Must Do & Learn. No Fascism, as it turns out, is the Actual Popularism.

When Democrats have the power, we have to use it. Universal childcare. Paid leave. Medicare for All. Abolishing ICE. No more incrementalism or moderating our aspirations. We need to do the work of repair, restoration, and reconstruction.

THIS JUST IN... Things went really well in this election because of poll workers. As individuals and as organizations. They took care of business...and didn't give bad actors an excuse to do dirty deeds. Hug a poll worker. Or two. Or three!

Reminder for anyone who needs to hear it: Investigating corruption and prosecuting individuals or corporations for wrongdoing is not "retribution" or "getting even." It's enforcing the rule of law. Just thought I should point that out.

Was it the war? Sure. It was also the blatant corruption, the inflation, the ICE overreach, the weird comments about random dude’s asses, the national guard fiascos, the self-dealing, the failed redistricting scam, and the fact that Trump is the worst fucking POTUS in history.
