Today is a great day for the ocean! Not only is the new Attenborough Ocean film out today, but I had a sneak peak at the new Great Map at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, and it's FABULOUS. A giant Spilhaus projection with beautifully detailed topography. Opens to the public June 7th. 🌊

things i like: the random 3 or 4 days in a Michigan April when it hits 70 degrees and everyone goes a little bit manic.

whoa, just had a crazy idea for getting faded inner hatched ribbons for polygons in ArcGIS Online and it totally worked! now, to try to get back to my original objectives today.
things i like: my authenticator app gives me a two-digit number to access my account. i seem to have an impromptu anecdote for every number, which helps me remember it in the three seconds between seeing it and keying it in.
things i like: the sound of Bob Ross' palette knife mixing paint.
things i like: ironically, the amount of my brain's memory locked up with 80s jingles and sitcom intro songs.

things i like: when i successfully transfer a gigantic pile of wet laundry from the washer to the dryer without dropping anything on the floor.
things i like: using chatGPT to quickly geocode a list of 130 place names. thinks i dislike: having to feed it the list piecemeal because it would just give up after 60 or so, and also skip some.
things i like: deftly avoiding the silt left in the bottom of the mug from French pressed coffee.

i was asked by folks to do more with small-scale map resources so i've been tinkering with this strip, or ribbon, map of a stretch of the Red Cedar River.
