Day 216 of #365DaysOfMaps. August 4th is US National Coastguard Day. Seems more worthy of a map from Ian than Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. Always Ready (216/365) mapdesign.icaci.org/2026/08/us-n...

Finally upgraded my work headset with new ear muffs. It was time. Got a bit fed up of constantly picking bits of black foam out of my ears.
Day 215 of #365DaysOfMaps. August 3rd is Grab Some Nuts Day, and Large Forehead Day so be grateful Ian's commemorating the first nuclear powered submarine to reach the North Pole instead. USS Nautilus (215/365) mapdesign.icaci.org/2026/08/uss-...
Found my archived PhD work. No Iomega zip drive though 🤦
Not sure why folks believe the original theatrical version of #StarWars is unavailable. Here's my original 1992 copy. I no longer have a VHS to watch though 🤦
Day 214 of #365DaysOfMaps. August 2nd is National Colouring Book Day. Ian's outdone himself with a four-colour theorem map colouring game today (with easier levels & neat variations). ChromaCarto (214/365) mapdesign.icaci.org/2026/08/nati...
Day 213 of #365DaysOfMaps. August 1st is International Child-Free Day. There's a day to celebrate children. Here's the counter for those who choose not to have children. Plus some 'method mapping' from Ian. Live Child-Free or Die (213/365) mapdesign.icaci.org/2026/08/inte...
I use my Keep Notes app regularly. Kudos to the icon designer who managed to make a light bulb look like #BobRoss

Incognito Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool at Comic-con is pretty lame compared to nearly 3,500 people coming to watch Nathan, and I (with that John fella) present Map Wizardry at our recent UC in the same place. Thanks SO MUCH for coming along. We're the official warm-up for Hollywood!
Day 208 of #365DaysOfMaps. July 27th is Norfolk Day. A day to celebrate this fine, if rather flat, English county. Norfolk Day (208/365) mapdesign.icaci.org/2026/07/norf...

Artsy #mapsinthewild 'globe'. Lines of longitude seem faithful, but I'm sure some folks would be aghast about those latitude lines being all over the place.
Picked up this natty little pin the other day. Just look at all those inaccurate peas, and the shape of those landmasses. Alternatively - what a lovely little pin #mapsinthewild

Day 206 of #365DaysOfMaps. July 24th is National Wine and Cheese Day. I made a real cheese board a few years ago and filled it with cheese. Here's a digital twin. UK Cheese and Wine (206/365) mapdesign.icaci.org/2026/07/nati...
Ian and I are discussing whether to end our AI mapping experiment early. Honestly, the vocal online minority are making it really unpleasant. I don't mind debate at all, but not people throwing around serious personally targeted accusations, and fueling misrepresentation of our motives.
Day 205 of #365DaysOfMaps. July 23rd is National Amelia Earhart Day. Today's map features a nod to my friend and colleague Nathan Shephard's joke about Earhart falling off the edge of a Robinson projection as a flat-earther Final World Flight (205/365) mapdesign.icaci.org/2026/07/nati...
