There were 37 homicides in the city last month, the lowest total for any such month dating back to at least 1970. That total is down 18% compared to July 2025, and is less than half the totals of July 2020 and 2021, which each saw more than 100 killings.

I think things would be better generally if Bluesky, and others platforms, stopped asking if users are liberals and instead asked what interests attract people to a site and how do we want to engage with each other

It’s unethical to conduct research without clear and precisely cited sources and methodologies followed. Unless and until generative AI clearly and precisely cites all its sources and reveals its methodologies, and then the AI itself is cited, it is unethical and irresponsible.
