Mostly dumb movie stuff, some dumb TV stuff too https://boxd.it/28hJ

Only nine other movies have ever opened above $200M, and only one of them had another movie that same weekend make over $20M (Twisters making $34.99M against Deadpool and Wolverine). Odyssey making $51M against the second movie to ever open to $300M+…bananas.

This A-list billionaire literally has 2, maybe 3 friends. If all of them are busy, our playboy will literally just sit in his home and not do anything and waits for someone to call or text him. He doesn't read or watch television or doom scroll, he just sits there. Not Tony Stark

Bruce Wayne sitting in his study, waiting for the batsignal in Batman Returns (1992)

Part of the fun of the third act of The Odyssey is it’s Nolan going into Batman Mode again, telling the story of a man using a disguise to bring the most trustworthy people together in order to bring down the scum ruining his home.

We’re also seeing “election denialism” in how they’re treating the audience scores available, claiming Rotten Tomatoes is “blocking negative reviews” while holding up the obviously-review-bombed Metacritic “showing a more accurate picture. “

Tweet from “AI_EmeraldApple”: The audience scores are in The Odyssey and rotten tomatoes is once again manipulating the ratings, as they are currently blocking negative scores. Metacritic is showing a more accurate picture of the real rating for the movie, rated at a 5.7 average.

“Other movies such as the woman king also boast a massively high viewer score of 99% despite its viewer score on metacritic at only 3.2.”

Conservatives on X are now claiming that The Odyssey, which had the most profitable live-action opening of the year so far with $264 million, is a box office flop. Just as I suspected, they are incapable of admitting they were wrong. This is the election denialism of pop culture.

It's me, I am the one of three people that loved Griffin signing off the Odyssey Blank Check episode with the "Jekyll Jekyll Hyde Jekyll Hyde Hyde Jekyll" song from Arthur

The Odyssey's success really highlights how the Chud Culture Warriors' biggest miscalculation has been assuming any public exhaustion with ""woke"" meant people would be receptive to a right-wing alternative, and not that most people just finds culture war bickering from all sides extremely annoying

The Odyssey scores Nolan’s fifth A grade from CinemaScore, after his Batman trilogy and Oppenheimer. The rest of his CinemaScore history: A: Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Dark Knight Rises, Oppenheimer, Odyssey A-: Dunkirk B+: Inception, Interstellar B: Insomnia, Prestige, Tenet
