It was a pleasure working with Rabah on this case, who burned the candle at both ends to ensure the right outcome . The rubber stamping of bail extensions by courts are too common . This case demonstrated the importance of scrutinising the evidence and asking why they need more time.

Louis Haigh’s case demonstrates the importance not only to seek legal advice but ensure that any decision to plead guilty is not made for expediency . A promising political career has been damaged as a result of a decision made several years ago.

Since 2016, there have been 3 elections, 6 PMs, and 4 different Brexit deals, none of which the Brexiters like. Yet the same Brexiters who said voting on those deals would break democracy, want another election, because they don't like the result of the one 4 months ago. These people are toddlers.

Occurred to me that it was 30 years ago that I voted for John Prescott for leader and I think Margaret Beckett for deputy . Never have been able to pick a winner in these elections but it ages me !
