Reading some of these one night only reviews (mine is already filed) and wondering if media literacy is now illegal except for one day

If Stevens had won by like ten votes, the headline would be “Michigan decisively rejects the progressive left on election night”
Progressives didn’t get the big election night they wanted
It’s getting to the point where I just want to quit the internet to avoid AI slop but even that doesn’t work because apparently now every goddamn business on planet earth has decided to use the same ugly designs for their everything
After I got out of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY, I joked to a friend that I could write a whole longform essay on how this movie is about male loneliness. Here is that essay. thankgodformovies.com/spider-man-b...
'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is about male loneliness. Seriously.
'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' turns Peter Parker’s story into a powerful exploration of male loneliness and emotional isolation.

I grew up religious and I still don’t get why so many Christians say they’re “god-fearing.” Bitch isn’t he supposed to love you?

Her husband walked off one winter night and didn't come back. Months later, a box arrives. Read "The Bones" by John Cohle, a literary short story that might challenge the way you view memory loss and cryptic reconnection. Artwork by @jonnegroni.bsky.social www.ceteramagazine.com/the-bones/

the second someone tells me they “used ai to” I know right right away that theyre just not an artist
elon musk could have whatever movie he wanted made, as professionally as he wanted, starting pretty much whenever he might want. he could probably even direct it. that he has the imagination of your average gooner and just wants AI to have and realize an artistic vision for him is really revealing
A quiet roommate. A house that always smells of bleach. A suspicion that refuses to stay buried. “Bleach" by Nora Ray (@noraraywrites.bsky.social) starts as psychological horror and ends somewhere even more unsettling. Read it now: www.ceteramagazine.com/bleach/ artwork by @jonnegroni.bsky.social

A woman is sure her quiet roommate isn't human. She's almost right.

There will be countless spoiler-free reviews out there about THE ODYSSEY so I decided to take the plunge on a more detailed analysis of the film ahead of its release. I explore the good, the bad, and the cyclops of Christopher Nolan’s mythic epic: thankgodformovies.com/the-odyssey-...
'The Odyssey' Finds Christopher Nolan Lost at Sea - Thank God For Movies
Christopher Nolan’s mythic epic, 'The Odyssey,' has towering ideas that are frequently tangled in exposition and thrilling sentiment.

to be fair it was probably in Mitch McConnell’s will for his body to be used for yet more subversion of Senate ethics
Just got off the phone with Mitch McConnell. We spoke for 20 minutes about LIGHTNING RACERS and whether or not the series will explain how these child versions of the CARS characters are children despite the movies clearly showing them meeting for the first time as adults.
As an editor, the amount of short stories I could read and hopefully publish would be so much higher if I didn’t have to sift through like 10 obviously-AI submissions for every 1 legit human work. It’s exhausting
As someone who reads slush on a regular basis, I have many many thoughts on the AI-subs stories being shared right now, but one thing is for sure: I hate what AI generated stories are doing to zines and publishers and writers. It makes things harder for everyone who is doing legit work.
oh no oh god I think this dude is breaking up with his girlfriend in the middle of this Panda Express
one of my favorite albums of the year, no question. Here's my review of Sienna Spiro's VISITOR ⬇️
With her debut album, VISITOR, Sienna Spiro finds staying power by letting go. Read our review.
my latest for Slant! I wanted so badly to like Temper Trap's newest album, Sungazer, more. But only about half the record lives up to the long wait. My review below ⬇️
The Temper Trap’s first album in a decade, #SUNGAZER, is more haunted than its arena-sized choruses suggest. Read our review.
something tells me only one person was talking
Scott Jennings says he spoke to Mitch McConnell for 20 minutes this morning.
It’s finally here! My first short story for Neon Hemlock and good lord this cover
