The UK says it is “considering” removing Hayat Tahrir al-Sham from its list of terrorist organisations following its victory over Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria.

Momentous events in Syria this morning. The 54 year rule of the Assad family appears to be over, with rebel forces taking to state TV claiming President Assad has fled Damascus. The prime minister has said he will hand over power to the opposition and has called for elections.
