Injustice In Pop #1 : The Soup Dragons and I'm Free
The history of pop and rock is laced with injustice: corrupt managers, dodgy labels, incorrect songwriting and publishing credits, unfair firings, unaudited and incorrect accounting.

Not too sure why I bought this... just confirming what I've always known, i.e. 90% of New Order remixes are unlistenable, and 10% are better than the original.
It turns out I'm of an age where a song can spend 19 weeks at Number One without me hearing it.
If I had some cows in a field and I left the gate to another field open and also kind of encouraged them to leave their field and then they went into the other field, I would not assume they had learned to open gates and that we were all going to die. #AI
I'm by no means an audio snob, but I've downloaded the new Mojave 3 remasters in lossless and now I'm crying.
Thank you for keeping the Zine Things Happen packaging department busy this weekend. I'm now sold out of Heavenly fanzines BUT there are still some copies of issues 1 and 3 to pick up for a song. Just visit the link in my bio to go to my shop. Thank you 🙏🏻
I asked ChatGPT "What makes this poster spectacularly bad?", and it began its answer with "It’s actually quite impressive in the sense that almost every basic poster-design principle has been ignored at once." So fair play for that at least.
www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026... As a teenager, I nearly drowned, and I was a reasonable swimmer. So I know it can happen to anyone. But it amazes me how so many media reports of tragic deaths skirt around the issue that the victim basically couldn't swim at all.

Anyone got any turntable recommendations? Having bought the Mojave 3 boxset I feel like I should finally have one again. Looking for compact, probably Bluetooth capability, maybe £250 max. This has good reviews.
Sex Mattress... good name for a band...
Over £1m in funding last year for sex mattress, with a core goal of something something sex/male/female/biology - none of which they can even remotely begin to define. Kinda clear that their *actual* goal is attacking minority groups instead 🤷♀️
Remember Loot magazine? Basically as if someone printed out eBay.

'Fantastic result, disastrous World Cup': England fan sentiment after England-France
England beat France 6-4 in a 'ten-goal thriller' match, with Bukayo Saka scoring a hat trick. But fans aren't happy with the campaign.

Any big Go-Betweens fans out there, I'm reluctantly selling my boxsets, inc volume 3 with a book from Grant's personal library ebay.io/m/xPLv7A
The Go Betweens G Stands For Go Betweens Volume 3 Plus Book From Grant's Library | eBay UK
Truly special boxset. Set has been opened, so there are some very light marks on the box, just about visible in photos. All vinyl and rarities CDs still sealed. Extensive book, and other memorabilia. The music in this set is incredible, but what really elevates this particular one is a certified book from Grant McLennan's personal library, which also came with a receipt used as a bookmark. Also (reluctantly) selling volume 1. Check my feedback - bid with confidence!

It's honestly one of the biggest sporting injustices if Mbappe wins the Golden Boot. They are OUT of the tournament. So are we. It's crazy that goals in this game count. #FRAENG
Have to admit it tickles me to think of David Gedge, who I know is partial to a bit of shoegaze, settling down to enjoy the new @simonreynolds.bsky.social book and encountering this on page 2...

"30–69% of LLM-generated references in biomedical contexts are fabricated"
Wow. Published in May in The Lancet. Look at those numbers of fabricated references per 10,000 articles in PubMed. The urge to publish is overcoming the urge to, I dunno, discover and learn things? #AI #medsky 🧪 www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...
Ooh, another mention for my episode and for @soniccathedral.bsky.social ... thanks Steve! Although I'm only a 'contributor' to Sonic Cathedral in the way that Scrappy Doo was a contributor to Scooby.

If, rather than 'player cam', you could do 'player internal monologue', which player would you follow and what would they be thinking?
How about this for Saturday cassette listening? See if you can name the Cure gig (my first).
Apps these days - "You want to do that? No problemo. I can sort it immediately. Just pop your deets in. That's it, card, thank you very muchly. Oh. You *actually* want to do it? Was not expecting that."

Remember when The Cure did an 'acoustic hits' disc as a bonus on their compilation? I wonder if @slowdiveofficial.bsky.social would ever consider doing the same. I think hearing the bones of songs like 'Star roving' would be awesome. Obviously we've already had Neil solo acoustic for a couple.
I once heard a saying, the better the wedding, the worse the marriage. Seeing all the people from The Office talking about what an amazing time it was, separately, reminds me of that. We'll always have "he's chucked a kettle over a pub, what have YOU done?" though.
