Poet.

I like social media, but only to talk about what I want to talk about, which is almost never what people are talking about to the exclusion of paying attention to anything else. I guess what I’m saying is I like talking to myself

I’m typing up a new long poem as time allows. It’s been a while since I tried seeing how long a subject wants to stick around. (Yes I *am* reading Rachel Blau DuPlessis’s Drafts, is it that obvious)

I had to laugh — I was puzzled that everybody didn’t put down their crossword puzzles and their knitting to read this. But it’s about a) a poet b) writing in a difficult language c) a hundred years ago. It’s amazing anybody will read this piece at all, as proud as I am to have written it.

Pre-publication anxiety / post-publication blues. But I have one near-term deadlines, two deadlines a couple months out, and one just over the horizon of the new year. A minute to catch my breath then back to work.
