Watched this last night, and it is indeed wild and not what I was expecting at all. It's on Tubi at the moment. Big flashing lights warning if you have any issues with that. Made in 2012 but definitely feels like it could have been made in the 90s.

completely forgot I wrote about Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning once, I've definitely never shared this here before. an extremely underrated action movie, and one of my personal favorites.

A writer is a person who cares what words mean, what they say, how they say it. Writers know words are their way towards truth and freedom, and so they use them with care, with thought, with fear, with delight. By using words well they strengthen their souls.

"Why can't you just appreciate how revolutionary the job-taking, environment-degrading, information-shredding, technology-hoarding, economy-swamping machine is?" My brother in Christ, there may indeed be a revolution in part because of "AI," but it might not be the one you wanted.

In addition to being one of the best of the Mission Impossible films, the music in MI: Fallout (Lorne Balfe) sounds amazing. Both in the film and the mastered release. Top notch prod/mix/master - great example of the "big hybrid score" thing. (Mix - Stephen Lipson, Master - Patricia Sullivan)

I have seen The Odyssey twice now, in two different theaters, and while I think it is a beautiful movie and I love it: it is my *opinion* that the sound is at a dangerous playback level. I would take ear protection and/or sit in the back if you haven't gone yet.

Work with what you have right now. Work with who you know right now. How many interviews/videos have you seen where the person who inspired you used some thrift store junk, or a stock plugin? There will always be another shiny toy someone wants to sell you. Boost an EQ into oscillation. Make stuff.

It's insane how many people don't know anything about Myst. Myst is the reason we started used discs for computer games, and the game that made mainstream culture start considering video games to be art. It is like more significant to video game history than any film was to film history.

i think one of the biggest underlinings in just how bad the western industry has been about its own legacy is like. myst isnt just an old game. it was final fantasy vii before final fantasy vii. it was that fucking huge.

An important educator on my journey passed away. Tim McGuinness was so kind and supportive of me during my time at Vancouver Film School. I will always remember sitting with him at the Doepfer rack and breaking down synthesis techniques. He was such a fan of music and his students. Thank you Tim ♥️🕯️

Though I'm not very fond of Shadows of Adam anymore, I realize it was a game I had to make to get the skills to make the next one. I think it's important to finish projects, even if they aren't perfect. They help you develop skills and serve as snapshots of where you were at the time!

People who put Yakuza 5 low on their list in the series, what game did you play? I just broke out of prison, had a snowmobile chase sequence, and a fist fight with a bear in a blizzard. This game is amazing.
