They clearly aren't doing a very good job if we are 2.5 years into a live-streamed genocide. MSM itself cannot stop the extermination, but it can exert enormous influence. There is little doubt that the Israeli genocidal regime is winning in its ability to intimidate the MSM into submission

“It’s undeniable that the British media humanizes Israeli victims of violence more than Palestinian victims.” @mehdirhasan.bsky.social explains the real problem behind British media’s bias towards Israel over Palestine under the pretense of balanced reporting. Subscribe to zeteonews.co.uk!

Israel has been continuously dropping all the bombs they have for 2.5 years on Gaza trying to erase palestinians there and make the place unlivable. Palestinians remain steadfast in that particular piece of Hell. Their resistance is nothing short of epic

The investigation into Terje Larsen has prompted research into the finances of the "peace industry": organizations like IPI which are formally non-profit organizations but senior staff receive financial benefits equivalent to for-profit companies 🧵 www.vg.no/nyheter/i/zO...

«Han var aldri der»

Gjentatte røde flagg i 15 år stoppet ikke norsk pengestøtte til IPI og Terje Rød-Larsen. Mens de ansatte jobbet tett på FN med fred, var sjefen sjelden til stede.

I worked at IPI from 2011-2016. Full-time at first and then, while I started studying for my PhD, part-time. After that I became a non-resident adviser there. In 2019, after the death of Jeffrey Epstein, news began to emerge of the close collaboration between him and Terje Larsen. 1/x

Khamenei was not hiding, he had prepared for his departure. The HZ example set the precedent. Nasrallah’s assassination delivered a massive blow to HZ. It is a mistake to apply the same logic to the IR, but Israel is following that template, I.e. the physical destruction of the organization-country

The Iranian government vowed on Sunday that it would retaliate for the attacks that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s longtime supreme leader and an implacable enemy of Israel and the United States, as attacks on the country entered a second day.

“I am not a ‘democrat’, if only because ‘humility’ and equality are spiritual principles corrupted by the attempt to mechanize and formalize them, with the result that we get not universal smallness or humility, but universal greatness and pride, till some Orc gets a ring of power” pp132-133

That humanity has reached this point, where a genocide is carried out and then villages and towns are erased to build on top of, literally, human bones such a dystopian urban nightmare is frightening. Palestinians, their history, their social interrelations have simply become disposable.

Trump's BoP plan for Gaza will 👉permanently erase towns such Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun, central Jabaliya and Rafah 👉destroy agricultural lands, universities, hospitals, historical sites 👉fragment it into 7 disconnected & heavily surveilled communities 👉Reduce Gaza's size through sterile buffer zones

"Then came Gaza: an unprecedented shock to scholars’ widespread belief that policymakers shared their values. Worse, instead of speaking out as other disciplines did, the field morally collapsed from within, by remaining overwhelmingly silent in the face of Western-backed mass killing in Gaza."

In the new @dissentmag.bsky.social issue, out today, @yguichaoua.bsky.social and I diagnose the crisis of conflict studies in a piece that is part intellectual history, part personal experience. What was conflict studies for? And what can its travails tell us about how wars have changed?

I don’t like to throw around the word evil, I avoid using it. But there are layers to the evil in this prohibition, depths of cruelty, pointless, gratuitous cruelty, and blatant sadism that simply make it impossible to describe it any other way

In yet another act of collective punishment, Israel has now banned all access to the sea across the entire Gaza Strip—prohibiting both swimming and fishing for Palestinians.
