Authors and illustrators have been whispering about this for years. Only now do we feel like we can speak up because their leader has shown his true colors. But here’s who needs really needs to know this: 1. Educators 2. Booksellers 3. Acquiring Editors
Josh Funk@joshfunkbooks.bsky.social · 3mo agoIf you stop reading books by the few bad folks, you won’t miss a thing. There are more than enough great books by good people to fill your TBR. (and if you want to know which ones to avoid, they’re all repped by the same agent, who clearly advises his clients to be shut up and hope people forget)
100% I stopped reading certain white, male, kidlit royalty authors when it became VERY clear they had their noses firmly up each others' butts and weren't interested in ever removing them. Also, writing the same board book four not-really-that-different ways? Lazy, entitled, and still celebrated.
