Trying to explain why I keep watching college football despite kind of hating everything about it.
With the caveat that this is the kind of observation you have when you don’t have real problems, people watching videos on the subway without headphones is real end of the world type stuff.

The 63-year-old former South Side Compton Crips leader was charged with orchestrating the drive-by shooting of the legendary rapper in 2023, and prosecutors leaned on his own 2019 memoir detailing his role in the killing.

Having, not for the first time, an internal debate about whether TikTok is busted or if I’ve screwed up my algo. At its best, it’s a goofy, fun distraction (harmless pranks and dad crash-out videos) and at its worst it’s AI-heavy, super repetitive, and influencer-clogged.
I know I’m screaming into the void, but I just can’t take 2 1/2 years more of this.
This is basically the plot of It’s a Wonderful Life, which shows quite beautifully that a moral life has its own, deeper rewards. It also shows—painfully and accurately — that the immoral do not get what they deserve.
Instinctive dislike, but NYT internal search is so bad the only possible way to find an article you’re looking for is to Google “NYT + x” so hey, let’s give this a shot.

I’m inclined to believe there’s a large % of people who simply have a higher risk-of-ruin tolerance than the average Bluesky user. I think what people really dislike are the commercials.
