I think the thing I like most about poetry is playing with words, forms, and making layered sentences. It’s playing with words while still conveying an idea

I started writing poetry and it’s neat. I can write out of happiness instead of suffering now. Suffering is genuinely premium writing fuel so finding alternative fuel is a game changer for me.

One of the things I wasn't prepared for is that there isn't really songs for when your life is smooth sailing and fun. Media is almost always about transitions or ephemeral experiences. The usual way there's media about the joy of the mundane is if you smuggle in a life retrospective from old age.

At least religion ostensibly believes in confession, redemption, and absolution. It has a grace machinery next to the sin machinery and online morality essentially just took the sin machine, gave it a paint job, and ran it. You did the bad therefore you are evil at your core.

Don’t really see a lot of reasoning why xQc having eyes on the game is good but tldr views are money and money supports creators in the community. It has a risk of potentially being disruptive to Splatoon as a social group, but it’s got pretty sharp upsides for Splatoon as a competitive shooter

(Explain your @) Someone was banned in a community for “Negativity and Disrespect” so that was my handle for a week and I realized I don’t wanna be the type of person that takes on that handle even to mock the admins for their dumb decision so I turned it to “Joy” as the opposite and it stuck.

Tangential rant: I have essentially one criticism of the lay person’s understanding of ethics and it’s that they’re all de Beauvoir’s serious man: aligning to externally defined value systems rigidly so they don’t have to evaluate moral positions. It’s lazy and dishonest while cosplaying virtue.

de Beauvoir talks about this a lot, but tldr there is no such thing as moral purity. Both action and absence of action have blood, that’s the base cost of existing. The recent online focus on moral purity is paralyzing, it leads to inaction and the performance of action. Slacktivism.

Petition for the collective to stop moralizing "meta" and "off-meta" and perhaps stop using those terms as personality traits or descriptors as a whole and we instead just play the video game.

There’s a Spanish band whose name translates to “Van Gogh’s Ear” and instead of being an edgy metal band they make wistful, gentle pop that’s cute. It’s a bizarre mismatch I’ve never gotten over.

It’s interesting to me how word choice carries additional rhetorical value beyond intended meaning. For example, a chemist saying “arsenic is natural” seems perfectly reasonable, but if you bring it up in any health-adjacent conversation it inherits meaning beyond what was intended.
