I also used throughput accounting to manage projects and programs starting in the 1980s. No one *ever* asked me if I was "in budget." Because they could see progress. Now, if I can get my brain to start this series 😂.

"Why don't managers use throughput/lean accounting to manage, and cost accounting to report?" -- @jrothman.com Just realized, I was doing precisely that in the late 2000s. It made intuitive sense. Even if it required translating two worlds back and forth continuously.
