At the WP Military Historian summer seminar, I learned this intuitively. We had an historical firearms day, and got to fire musket volleys (no rounds, just powder). I can be manually fumbly at times, so I decided I was just going to do it slowly. Anyway, I was the 2d fastest. Vietnam vet beat me. 🤣
