I realized I never shared this on here! I MADE A MOVIE! Four and a half years of blood, sweat, and tears. It's been in my head longer, but to get it almost exactly on screen as I saw it in my head was a lot harder than I thought... Here it is: Ruleta! A holiday noir. youtu.be/Kthpe_HrtTM?...

I'd like to announce RULETA (written, directed, and DPed by my wonderful friend, @jshlozano.bsky.social ) will be premiering on YT tomorrow! I'm proud to've been an Associate Producer and Assistant Sound Editor on this (poster art also by me!) and hope y'all enjoy the short film! 🩵
Decided to take advantage of the Flash Sale for the Criterion Collection. A lot of films that I love, one new watch for research purposes, and a pre-order that I couldn't help but cop because man... @realgdt.bsky.social's Nightmare Alley is too enticing to pass up. I HAVE to see that B&W version.
Think we'll get a Trainwreckords on The Life of a Showgirl @shadowtodd.bsky.social?
Got to see Kevin Smith today at the El Paso Film Festival today, and was BLESSED by Lloyd Kaufman of Troma! Ran into the latter twice and he told a dad joke to my fiancé. What a night. What a town.
Guys, Gwen and Jen are good people. Not only have they been friends and moreso for a LONG TIME, but they are both genuinely talented and lovely people, and they deserve to be able to try to live their best lives imaginable. Please donate. Help them live how they're meant to.
Having heard a bit of it... this is something really fun and special. And I really think it'll stay in your head for years to come.
Gwendolyn M.J. Stone@gwenlovesmovies.bsky.social · last yr.I'm trying to be a little more secretive on what my new film project is, though, at least until we have the crowdfund campaign ready to launch.... But..... it's coming.... it's a pitch I'm really proud of.
This is my favorite film of the year, and while it was edged out by a really stacked couple of months of bigger movies, the fact its on digital means EVERYONE can watch it! Do yourself a favor and check it out! It's absolutely beautiful!

NEW VIDEO! I'm horrifically late, but I still wanted to do my favorite and least favorite first time watches of last year. This is a different type of video than I usually do, but I wanted to experiment with ranking videos and top 10 lists. Lemme know what you think! www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2bg...

OK hear me out... if this does well, MAYBE we could get The Nice Guys 2.

Usually I don't like chasing the algorithm. Often I feel like although I love my videos, there are some that I tried to bring something new to the table but I maybe made an OKAY video. Not great, but good. But I'm making an exception. I got something to say...

From the looks of it, we're getting a triple header of 10/10 Stephen King adaptations! The Life of Chuck is King's heart by Mike Flanagan. The Long Walk is King's tension and fear by Francis Lawrence. And The Running Man is King's sense of action and humor by Edgar Wright.

For a while, it was Sinners... but leave it to @mikeflanaganfilm.com to take the edge. The Life of Chuck is just beautiful, man...

Kanopy@kanopy.com · last yr.We're halfway through the year, so we're wondering, what is the best film you've seen in 2025? Doesn't have to have been released this year, just a film that you saw for the first time in 2025 that you loved.
Name a movie you've watched more than 6 times! (Extra Hard Mode: No English Language Films!) I give TWO.

Look... I don't mean to be THAT GUY... but part of what makes The Social Network work is the precise direction of David Fincher. I dunno... I don't hate Sorkin like a lot of people, and a sequel makes sense given EVERYTHING since 2010. But it's like getting Ron Howard to do The Social Network.

As a Texan... this is MONUMENTAL NEWS! I've seen @crobertcargill.bsky.social talk about this a lot, and this is going to be amazing for anyone that is looking to get into the industry, with no one feeling the need to retreat to New Mexico or Georgia! variety.com/2025/film/ne...

In a generation that has had nothing but history making events thrust on them without consent or without reason (9/11, the housing crisis, COVID, the January 6th insurrection, Gaza and Ukraine, and now this)... I am genuinely... for the first time in my life, completely scared for my country.

The episode will be out at some point, but it was a joy to introduce this to @chimerafilms.bsky.social and @gwenlovesmovies.bsky.social. I saw this with @thebearhimself.bsky.social and a bunch of my friends IRL, and fell head over heels. I cannot sing Streets of Fire's praises NEARLY ENOUGH.

I have a segment coming up in my new video later about the beauty of Love and Mercy (2014), but I feel it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of how monumental of a talent Brian Wilson was. A visionary, poet, a sensitive soul. You listen to one of his songs, you hear his soul sing. He's THAT GOOD.

Welp... shit's being delayed EVEN MORE than I thought. My Google account has been hacked, due to some scammers that I let myself get fooled by. Now I can't access my YouTube or my Gmail... And I'd JUST finished my new video, too...
Still finishing up with the favorites/least favorites. And man... the favorites have been SO MUCH easier to edit... but there's this heavy feeling when you edit a film from Alfred Hitchcock. Like -- you're cutting up gold in Adobe, and you wanna get across how good it really is... y'know?
