I have a family member absolutely spinning out over yesterday's elections. They're convinced Muslims are going to flood into this country and execute the Christians. So, you know, consider checking in on loved ones who may be having it rough and share with them how their lives may end up better.
Today I'm thinking of all the women whose lives will be saved if we repeal the draconian abortion ban. I'm thinking of all the businesses & jobs created if we legalize marijuana. I'm thinking of the updated grid and all the data centers that won't be hooked up to it. I'm thinking of the trans kids.
Texas's peak midterm turnout was previously 8.5M. Yesterday we had 9.6M, a 1.1M voter increase. James Talarico won by 1.1M votes. Texas, when we vote, we win. Please, in the future, if you have stubborn family or friends, BEG THEM to vote. Let's make sure this is no fluke and KEEP TEXAS BLUE.
We've been talking about this for years, and now we have the proof in the pudding. Texas is not a red state; it is a non-voting state. When people come out to vote who normally don't, we can get sane governance. Let's get Ted Cruz next & position Texas to be something republicans have to FIGHT for.
