I don't know what everyone's complaining about. Just go to settings > features > worms, then change the "worms pouring out of my phone" toggle from "yes" to "maybe later"

You’re not going to believe this: we already do this. ex Geoffrey Owens hosts a party on Shakespeare’s bday. Lo! Tomes all around & when people clink their glass with a fork or whatever, two people must read a scene (or one a monologue). Mix of actors & casuals, & SO FUN @emilynussbaum.bsky.social

A karaoke bar but for acting. You and your friends get up on stage to perform movie scenes for strangers. Actually this might be the worst idea I've ever had. I'm putting myself under arrest.

oh am I effing cool NOW? Because zero newspapers & magazines would take this column from me in 2023 and I absolutely pitched it with a Cassandra reference. That was when people STILL HAD TIME TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. So I thought it was important to get it out THEN. You know: bsky.app/profile/jst0...

those who predicted authoritarianism were both dismissed, & deeply misunderstood, by the media my latest for @newrepublic.com newrepublic.com/article/2042...

Bruce: "Federal troops brought death and terror to the streets of Minneapolis. They picked the wrong city. The power and the solidarity of the people of Minneapolis and of Minnesota was an inspiration to the entire country. Your strength and your commitment told us that this is still America."

I liked this movie. But I do like solid-premise single-location indie #scifi +weird films (The Man From Earth, Circle). It’s actually possible to shoot them($) & they are more like plays in terms of dialogue/character driving discovery/weirdness. Would be v fun on the acting side! Congrats to them

If anyone is interested in the sequel to COHERENCE, we finally landed on a story worthy of the mission. Unless the actors revolt, we will probably do it just like the first one, where they know their own character details, but don't know what the other actors are going to say or do. Like real life.

this is cool My move is still fresh but I actually do miss US stamps — Went out of my way for: Moon Landing (fave), Trek (although wished it were TNG), Le Guin, Coffee! (bought so many of those) and Women’s Suffrage designs Canada needs to up its game although… they do have a MuchMusic stamp now!

Behold a lovely stamp sheet by Chris Ware ... ... where each stamp shows a moment in the day of a postwoman apparently it's the first time anyone has tried to tell a story with a stamp sheet item #1 in my latest "Linkfest" newsletter, free here: buttondown.com/clivethompso...

sheet of stamps in a 5 by 4 grid. Each shows a female postal deliverer walking her route and delivering mail, through the grid of a small town's streets. Each panel includes her interacting with different residents of the town, including children on the way to school, people shopping, and more. Different parts of the town show each of the four seasons

Can’t believe after all these years on this beat bts someone didn’t send this to me the hot minute it dropped — let’s read this & then I can probably stop trying to explain this to colleagues & my lovely #scifi readers myself. So glad about that & ty to the author for tackling this needed project 🌌

you can purchase Speculative Whiteness: Science Fiction and the Alt-Right directly from my publisher here

I'm intrigued but don't understand exactly what "editorial views independently" means here. Meaning no works -- TV, movies, books, video games, albums, art exhibitions -- would be reviewed until after they were available to the public? Or is this something about the screening mechanism?
