Something that I think we can all agree on is that the current generation of Democratic leadership is simply not optimized for the Attention Age. Not really their fault! And honestly, they may be better people for it, but it's a pretty pressing political problem.

The nice thing about all these wonk guys going full mask off is the pretense of them actually being smart has been dropped and we can now clearly see them for the resentful little creeps they have always been

Ultimately Democrats vulnerability on trans rights has nothing to do with trans rights. What people hear is that Democrats care more about trans rights than their own concerns, a message that would have zero traction if they felt Democrats genuinely did care about their own concerns

I think this is because a central trick of reactionary/fascist politics is to invert the realities of power. Even if reactionaries gain power, maintenance of it requires escalation of that inversion to construct a world where miseries of capitalism are blamed on Hamas, wokeness, whatever

What I find so funny about these people is that they won and it’s not enough for them. They’re in power, they control the fate of everything in the country, they took over Twitter. And yet, they can’t help but go searching for the same people that they dislike so much.

These are polarized times, but we can't cede the idea of "government efficiency" to the cynical right. What would efficiency that really helps people look like? Public healthcare and college, no means testing. No humiliating red tape for SNAP, FEMA, debt relief. Websites for UI that actually work.
