Been making steady progress towards the helo prototype. Still very unoptimized and buggy, but I'm happy with the progress. First real multiplayer playtests will be coming soon! #godot #indiegamedev #helicopter

Hi! I’m an indie game developer, I mostly do coding, design, UI, and a bit of audio. I’ve got some game projects in the works 😈 https://www.dithyrambic.games/julian/
made a quick little crosshairs for the pilot in #helo inspired by bf6 and real life helicopter HUDs. Used inkscape for the dotted line and calculated the dash / gap pixels by calculating the circumference of the circle, then dividing by (2 * num_lines * stroke_width) 🤓 #godot #indiegamedev
Coded some improvements to the third person camera to make it more usable. Man rotations are hard. #indiegamedev #godot #helo
Made a "stinger" missile enemy to create a threat to the player in our helicopter game prototype. I had fun reading about how real stinger launchers work for inspiration on how to program the missile's guidance, which uses proportional navigation 🤓 #godot #helicopter #indiegamedev
New feature: neck mover 😃 #godot #helicopter #indiegamedev
We're taking the approach of making a fun prototype first before rabbit holing into oblivion. Since the flight was in a good enough spot, I did some work on the gunner's experience. Any ideas for what/who the enemies are? Robots? Terrorists? Robot terrorists? 🤔 #godot #indiedev #helicopter
Started a new game prototype last week with my friend @frenchjoe.bsky.social and I'm really enjoying the process so far. It's loosely inspired by games with co-op flying gameplay like battlefield BC2/3/4/6, planetside 2, even dust 514. All assets are placeholder :) #helo3d #godot #prototype
Feeling burnt out so I'm creating something simple.
Last day of #GDC2026, looking forward to the experimental game showcase.
rotating a 3D model > drawing the rotation by hand #Godot #indiegame #gamedev #ProjectHelo
Yesterday I glued together this diegetic main menu interface for my game. It's kinda gimmicky but I really like it. #godotengine #indiegamedev #zombies
how much do you show in a pitch deck when your game is still pre-alpha? trying to figure out the balance between "here's the vision" and "here's what exists." if you've successfully pitched at this stage, I'd love to pick your brain. #indiegames #gamedev #godot
Been working more on a new direction for this night scene I've working on. I'm going in a new direction for Zombulacrum with a specific demo in mind. It's been fun! #godotengine #indiegamedev
Today I got some real world topographical data into #godotengine using the #terrain3d plugin. Really it's just as a visual backdrop, but is used for the ground plane as well. I slapped some purchased assets into the scene and called it a day. Nothin' too fancy but progress is progress.
Made a splash screen today in #godotengine. It's a minor thing but somehow this makes the project feel a lot more real. I also had to add skipping for each logo just to satisfy my impatient brain.
Just went to my last class of my undergrad ever at UC Berkeley. It’s surreal. I remember how my first semester at community college felt. I learned so much in these 6.33 years, it’s insane. #goosebumps #graduation
Starting the day right with a cuppa mud and reading the #GodotSteam and #Steamworks documentation. #gamdev #indiedev
Pre-flight systems check... complete. All lights are green. #ProjectHelo multiplayer is spooling up. Standby for launch, pilots. #gamedev #indiegames #godot
about to be back on my gamedev grind. got a really cool project that I started with @julian-pr.bsky.social that I’m super pumped about will be showing the process on here #ProjectHelo #gamedev #indiegames
Damn my blueksky is hella dusty. I think there's a dead rat around here somewhere. Anyway, here's a more recent screenshot from my zombie game :)
I think people these days are more impatient when it comes to learning new skills or honing their craft because the internet lets you see other people's results all the time Makes people feel like they aren't going fast enough instead of focusing on the process
Been busy the last two days with school work, and going to be busy for a few days more. So not much time for working on my zombie game and dev logs :(
