A good measure for whether you’re overly hating someone is to ask yourself if you want them dead, in prison, or poor If the answer to all of them is “No” but you’re talking about them as if the answer is yes, then you need to calm down lol

Every now and then you gotta just make a random, chill, irrelevant post like “I’m playing Wii Sports” That no normal person can have a problem with. Just to reset.

A huge problem with the internet is people judging every little thing about other's lives as a personal failure as if we aren't the products of our environment. And most people don't think about everything too deeply, and expecting them too is kinda weird.

I feel like every video editing session I learn a new shortcut in Da Vinci that drastically changes my life

I’ve been jumping back into smoothies lately and I’m so glad I let go of bananas. Feel like a whole new world has opened up

The whole “all dating preferences are rooted in some prejudice and should be interrogated” thing is one of those takes that I understand but feels like trying to tell people to cure a disease by just addressing the symptoms

How do we reconcile the fact that some of the long term decisions that game companies made were literally what consumers asked for until the consumers changed their mind

YUP. I also think boycotts are tough to organize when they are about the inherent quality of the product as opposed to an external political movement (e.g. BDS) Because otherwise yea, you’re just deciding to buy a product you don’t like. Which people do all the time. Hard to organize around that

Most online "boycotts" fail because most people don't know what a boycott is. Boycotts are well organized. Making a personal decision not to buy something, especially temporarily, is not a boycott. I would like if they reversed their decision, but it's very unlikely.

Honestly. Sony doing their physical disc discontinuation announcement on the year of GTA6 is some supervillain shit They know they can just wait until that drops and make it impossible for anyone to take any “boycott” claims seriously 😭

Y’all hate Black kids and made those babies feel fucking horrible about themselves reading all your nasty bitch ass comments. None of y’all wanna help them. Turns out your archaic thoughts had nothing to do with them and EVERYTHING to do with y’all. Fuck you and go drink piss.

There’s been a lot of conversation online about the dress code policy at Tuskegee. But current students have been largely left out of the discourse. So I talked with some of them:

One thing people don’t know about emulators is that they got their name from the Emu bird. Emus are known to copy the movements of other animals, just like how emulators mimic hardware. So yeah.

It makes people think about game skill as something more like talent, it makes them doubt their own ability to improve and stops them from engaging with games they might have otherwise, or on the other end it makes ppl over-focus on carryover skills and become entitled to getting *those* tested

One of the most consistently damaging thought patterns among players is treating skill level as static and games as exams rather than something more like instruments. You walk in with whatever skills you had, you get tested & graded and you walk out. It leads to *a lot* of negative trends
