To summarize this post- life is short, so paint on your walls and snuggle your kid. (And maybe also buy my book.)
And now guess who has to take cholesterol medication in their mid-40s *brag* (actually it’s a genetics thing, not a cheese thing, but the cheese definitely didn’t help)
So it turns out when your entire website consists of artists, they will actually MAKE art and then even SELL IT! For anyone to purchase and have IN THEIR HOME!!! 😲 🖌️ Topa.to/Prints 🖌️
This is circa 2010, but now I need a therapist to help me with the anger I have towards health insurance making it so hard for me to find an in-person therapist. I’d rather be mentally ill than do zoom therapy. Anyone else or just me? It’s fine. I’m fine. Hahaha *scream*
In my defense, I only threaten to cut off body parts when he’s making a huge deal out of a small injury. When he actually broke his nose, I was NICE and I TOOK HIM TO URGENT CARE and I LET HIM EAT ICE CREAM BEFORE NOON, okay??? (More on Patreon)
But yours was cute, right? The only cute newborn in the world, sure.
Bad news, guys. He's six now, and it's even worse. Whenever he sneaks into our bed, I wake up a pile of dust (the link if ya need it: www.juliawertz.com/store/)
I recently posted a comic about a vasectomy on IG, and The Men came for me. Mostly they were mad I said it took 5 minutes. So I amended the text and added another page for clarity, re: my lifestyle choices, since many assumed I was anti-kids (despite the comic being from a book about have a baby)
Architectural award ceremonies were way more fun in 1931
pssst I've got some extra copies of Bury Me Already available in my online shop- it comes with lots of extra goodies! www.juliawertz.com/product-cate...

I don’t normally put trigger warnings on my work, but the next few posts will cover some difficult subjects that include mental illness, talk of suicide, and a depiction of a traumatic incident that occurred in 2021. However, I’m extremely grateful to say Josh is okay and doing well.
Skylight Books in LA May 22nd! Either Priyanka Mattoo! Cancel your holiday weekend plans! Be there! 7pm
scams targeting writers are on the rise and while I know most of you already know, I'm posting for the few that might not. (A longer explanation of things to watch out for is attached as an image)
Spoiler alert (not really): this the last page in my book, which I’m posting for Mother’s Day instead of a funny comic because this happened in May 2023, and was the best Mother’s Day gift I’ve ever gotten. The preceding pages that explain this situation are free to read on patreon.com/juliawertz
just an idea, but what if for Mother's Day, you got a vasectomy
hey Bay Area! I'll be at @comicconoakland.com this weekend at table F14! Come grab Bury Me Already (a great mother's day gift! or say hit to me ON Mother's Day since the con is the 9-10th!) or get some con-exclusive merch or just come by and get some free stickers & pins (while supplies last)
I wrote a "funny this month" piece in the @newyorker.com newsletter. I meant to reference the books I read so I'd seem SMART, or comedians whose shows I enjoyed so I'd seem COOL, but instead I wrote about the Les Miserables sing-off in the show Shrinking. whoops! link.newyorker.com/view/5bd673c...

thanks to my obsessive note-taking, I remember quite a bit about events of yore, but I have no idea what I did with that bag of potatoes (from this book: juliawertz.com/bury-me-already/)
only two book events left in April! C'mon out to Napa Bookmine 4/29 at 6pm or Pegasus (on Shattuck) 4/30 at 7! (links in thread)
Tomorrow 4/25 is Independent Bookstore day! This is a great opportunity to support writers/artists, publishers, indie bookstores, AND get yourself or someone else a gift. (Might I suggest my new book for Mother’s Day? Pick it up at one of these stores I drew or any others) 1/3- Bay Area…
I understand WHY this happens, my question is when does it stop?
