Has two middle names, two dogs, two college degrees, two lives (admin by day, writer by night), too many interests, and plausibly too many personalities.

Last night I dreamed of an orange butterfly as big as the sycamore tree it floated around. I could just make out the faint outline of its wing scales, each as large as my head. I thought to myself I need to remember–every day–there is huge beauty in the world, and to make a point to look for it.

Pupdate: Maggie Waggy has finished her meds and now demands her daily probiotic inside a chicken-flavored Pill Pocket. Niko Sneako tolerates bandages and clothes, but it's hard to keep her ouchie covered; it still has lots of healing to do. Both had unrelated injuries recently; I'm a tired #dogmom.

I kinda miss Clippy the paperclip. At least it was somewhat cute and cheerful as it offered to help. Unlike the pervasive, pernicious, practically full-screen takeover by Artificial Dumba**ery whenever I even try to just get to my software/apps.

UPDATE: Tomorrow's "gig" is from 2-4 at White Crow Cider Company with Curbside Chapters. (Thanks to all who joined us today at Old School Tap House! Highly recommend the street tacos at OSTH. Check out their lovely patio, too. They have lots of other events with music and more. 😍)

Belated social media "dog tax" payment to make up for some shameless self-promotion, from the pup park earlier today to make up for being a Bad Dog Mom all week. (It could also be considered Cat Tax bc we're fairly certain Maggie Waggy is 42% feline.)

Each time I tell Niko Sneako & Maggie Waggy that something will happen very soon! In just a few hours or minutes! They give me sideeye and say "Mom. We know you didn't multiply in the Canine Time Factor. Quit trying to make everything sound better than it is." #baddogmom

🥳 Happy 13-year KMUW Work-iversary to me! I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many industrious, brilliant colleagues who truly care about our community. Sometimes they make my brain hurt but, hey, first world problems, right?! 🤓

Question (you probably won't like it) for instrumental musicians in a cafe environment: If it’s a choice between my attending alone w/ my laptop & getting things done while I listen, or my staying home, which would you prefer? I realize you'd prefer my full attention but that's not always possible.

Today is my Mom and Dad's I've-lost-count Anniversary. But you'd better believe they'd still be together. They were the best humans, parents, community builders, friends. I profoundly miss their presence on Planet Earth. Thankfully, I can still visit with them from time to time through the veil.

Wow: my first two Amazon reviews—five stars—and they’re unsolicited! One is by a fellow author, Jim Gilkeson … y’all should get at least one of his gazillion books. I reviewed one of them and I’ll do it again. My book on AZ (if you must go there): shorturl.at/VGHup
