I recently received NIH funding, and will be looking for two postdocs. It will take 1-2 months for grants and contracts to set up a budget on campus and another 3-5 months for the University to approve an ad for a postdoc. I’ll post the formal positions sometime during the next six months.

Does it take every University one to two months to set up a budget on campus? My NIH NOA, start date August 5, 2026, won’t be set up on campus for spending until September or October…..

Welcome to the official BS page of the 18th European Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference (EuroBIC 18), taking place in Groningen, the Netherlands 🇳🇱, from July 12–16, 2026. See you next week! How many of you have been forced to shut down your labs 🧪 because your funding was cut? All of that wasted knowledge. A bit like the destruction of the Parthenon. Took thousands of man hrs to build only to be blown up by greedy people who know nothing about art.

MacFarlane: I'm filling a notebook with misinformation spreading about January 6th today. The idea that these cases were wrongful, no case was overturned, not a one on appeal. And lots of people appealed. They had a 100% success rate for juries at trial.

How long after the council meeting are people typically waiting before receiving an #nih R35 NOA (if they have a fundable score)? It’s been 4 months so far. RO1 funds ran out 60 days ago. Proposal was submitted more than a year ago. 🧪

Americans rely on the NIH to do cutting-edge research to help us treat diseases. In turn, that research creates jobs and generates economic activity.
The ultra-wealthy wouldn't feel the impact of this loss. You will.

Trump and RFK want to cut more than $5B from the NIH
This massive cut could lose us 50,000 jobs and over $11.5B in economic activity nationwide.
The millionaires and billionaires in this administration wouldn’t feel the difference.
You’d pay the price.
